Default Boggles The Souls And The Mind

My wife and I were just in Barbados to see the folks at the US Embassy. All due to the fact that Junior has now become aware of the little mouse that lives in Orlando. Visas VIsas Visas!!

Anyway, our plane took off rather early for the first leg of this caravan - my guess is that we were in the air at about 8:00AM. When the plane made an early left hand turn, we saw Aruba in its totality. It is quite a sight for the eyes but a much more profound sight for the soul and the spirit. Think about the following:

No matter how high a plane from New York flies and how many turns it makes, you will not see the entire USA. You cannot see all that your passport represents and stands for. YOu cannot see the splendor of the Grand Canyons and the smallest humble small little villages in hidden coves. Such a sight would be as impossible as it would boggle the mind. You could not see what it is that sends many young men to far away countries so that they can stand by their flag and be so very proud of their "DUSHI TERRA" - America.

Yet ...

Sitting in a puddle jumper of an airplane - with all of the sounds that the devil himself dreamt up - roaring through our ears, we saw it all. We saw the banks and the homes where the bankers live, the auto dealership and the car wash. The grocery store and the the Doctors office as well as the small home in the back where he lives and we saw so many other places that are our totality. We saw it all. From deep blue shore with its' white trimmed beach borders that seem to be the mini skirts of the hotels to the rest of it - we saw it all. The highest spot and the lowest. The cleanest and the dirtiest. All.

And in a different way than seeing all of America at one shot - it boggled our minds - but perhaps more importantly, it boggled our souls and certainly our spirits were lifted a notch higher wiht this sight.

Kevin, thank you for the words about our Dushi Terra. Your "Terra" is equally as "Dushi" and I wish you an early Fourth of July

As the rockets red ....... And bombs bursting in ......

Be well

Simple, yet profound.

Every time we fly home, we always struggle to spot landmarks in our own area. It's not until we're seconds away from landing that we can identify what we are flying over or where we are, because of the seemingly endless sprawl that defines our area. I can truly appreciate and relate to your observations and comments - simple, yet profound.
