I like collecting them too - big stacks of them as a matter of fact. Unfortunately, the casinos just won't cooperate.
Seriously though, I do try to keep at least one chip and a deck of cards from each casino I visit, just for a keepsake. I have chips from Aruba, Atlantic City, Vegas, Corfu and the Bahamas. Sorry though, I only have one of each so I am not interested in getting rid of any of them.

Thank you for considering me. Many chip collectors do collect home poker chips, advertising chips, novelty chips, etc., but I only collect chips from Casinos, Card Clubs, etc. I think ebay is your best option for those. Good luck!

I have just found out the Allegro is using old no cash value chips as match play chips. The chips are red and blue and have gold hot stamped lettering on them. They say Palace Casino on them, not the Allegro. The Palace was the name of a former casino in the same building. The Palace was open from around 1990 to 1998. If anyone can get any of these chips, especially the blue ones, I would love to get some. Please PM me, if you can get any.
Thanks!!

The chips are Palace Casino chips being used at the casino in the Occidental Aruba Grand, between the Radisson and the Hyatt Regency. I usually refer to the casino as the Allegro, because it still uses chips that say Allegro on them. Before it was the Occidental, the hotel and the casino were the Allegro. I understand the orange chips are part of a coupon giveaway in the Aruba Nights entertainment book. The blue chips are apparently given to holders of different coupons sent directly to preferred customers.

The value of chips depends not only on whether the chips are discontinued (obsolete) or the casino itself has closed (I thought it was still up in the air whether the Royal Cabana may reopen at some point in the future), but on the number of chips amongst collectors and the number of collectors who want them. In other words, supply and demand. Recent chips, except in the exceptional case, remain low in value because there are now a large number of collectors. There are plenty of the recent Royal Cabana chips around. The number of chips in pristine condition may be low, and the number of collectors who are interested in chips from Aruba may increase (I sure make a big fuss about them!!
), so the values can increase some. The chips from the 50's to the 70's will probably remain the more valuable ones by a long shot. Aruba casinos, however, have a recent habit of selling their old chips to people who sell home poker sets in bulk, greatly reducing the value of old chips. For example, I'm sure the value of these no cash value Palace chips will plummet now that the Occidental has brought them out again. So, even the old chips may not retain their value in the right circumstances. The upshot is, collect them if you like them. Don't expect to get rich off of them! I hope that answered your question to some extent. I expect the recent royal cabana chips with the dancing couples will go up a small amount, if the casino remains closed, while the older royal cabana chips might go up a bit more.

Hi
Not as of yet, we did buy a villa and will be settling in Aruba in the next year or so, we are trying to get a business venture going but in been I heck of a ride. I got a few different chips from Aruba and I do have a few friends that are residents of Aruba, I will do some checking and I will let you know if anything odd or something that is older is around. I all so have a friend that was a pit boss at the Lacabana until it closed, he started there when it was open.
