Just returned from beautiful Aruba, and we had a wonderful time. The KK party bus was a blast! The food was tasty, the tour guides were great, and it was definitely worth the money.
However, I cannot say the same about the Tattoo party cruise. The food was disgusting and the drinks were watered down. The entertainment was also a bust (unless you want a sweaty D.J. humping you). We spent most of our time on the top deck as we cruised down the coastline...which was beautiful. If you go, which I would not recommend, definitely bring a light jacket. It gets cool out on the water at night. P.S. Bucuti beach resort was a wonderful place to stay. |

Amen. I hated that Tattoo cruise. When ti boat went past the Tam, I SERIOUSLY wanted to jump out. My b/f and I discussed it. We coudl have swam the short distance, but we had a $700 camera with us. When the boat reached downtown, some guy hopped in a water taxi and left. We wanted to go with him! The ride back was long. And to make it worse, they told us there would be someone at the dock to give credit for any unused tokens. There wasn't anyone there. We got stiffed for them. WASTE OF MONEY.
The Kukku was EXCELLENT! We had a blast.

Thanks for this info. I was actually going to go on the Tattoo Party Cruise and may not do so now. I am curious about the KuKu Kanuku party bus. How long are you at each bar before departing to the next? I'm not sure how the whole tour works and would love any more info that you can provide.

Yeah, don't waste your time. It really wasn't worth it at all. The Tattoo stunk. When we went on the Mi Dushi, we met up with a couple that was stuck on the same boat, the same night. They said the saaaaaaaame thing: "What a waste of money."
As for the Kukko, I think we were at each stop for like 45 mins. to an hour. There were three or four bar stops, plus the dinner (and champagne toast) and the ride around to each stop was fun. I'm not an outgoing type of person, and let me say, I was shaking those maracas after the first drink. Each bar they took us to was better than the next. Everyone was SOO friendly and the "tour guides" were great. At one place, they all got up on the bar and danced for everyone. They have a website: arubaadventures.com. Check it out. We also did the Mi Dushi snorkeling tour and LOVED it. The people in charge were awesome.

Yeah, the folks on the Mi Dushi were great. They were so genuine and accomodating. The rope swing was a blast. They let us go one over and over again. We made donkeys of ourselves because we kept sliding off the rope too early, but that's ok. It was fun!

Is there some kinda of alternative dinner cruise or sunset cruise to Tattoo that you would recommend? Because we were planning on going out for the evening and enjoy the cruise.

I can't say I'd recommend that boat for anything. The cruise we went on included food and to be quite honest, the food stunk. Everything was a little less than average tasting, really.

I totally agree about the Tatoo. My husband and I also sat upstairs waiting to dock and thought about swimming back to shore. Couldn't even eat cause the wind was so bad I kept getting hair in my mouth (it was our first night, our first trip, no one told me to bring a hair clip). We went under the recommendation of friends who had gone several times and loved it (they are in their late 40's as we are in our mid 40's). I thought it was just way too young for us. And the drinks were indeed watered down.

Hello...My wife and I are planning on going on the KuKoo party bus with the dinner and bar hopping. We will be on a Royal Caribbean cruise in October. It's our second time to Aruba, but we've never done the Kukoo.
I see that Royal Caribbean has this Kukoo party bus/dinner/bar hoping on their shore excursions of things we can purchase on the cruise ship. Can anyone tell me if it makes any difference if we go through the cruise line for this, or should be just book it on our own. And if we book it on our own, will we be getting the exact same company that the cruise line is using, or are there more than one company that puts on this excursion? Any info you can provide will be helpful. It looks like a lot of fun and we can't wait. Just want to make sure we buy the event from the right place to avoid any problems or disappointments. Dave |

It's the same company whether you book direct or with the cruise line. The differences could be:
1. Where you eat dinner. If there are multiple busses that operate that night, they can't fit everyone in at the same place, so you could be in different locations. I've been to two of their locations (a Minister's house, and a cunucu house in the country side), and both are nice. The food's the same no matter where you go. 2. Order of the bars you visit. Again, if there are multiple busses that operate that night, they can't fit everyone into the same bars at the same time. They will mix the order up to take care of everyone. 3. Last bar at night. Again, if there are multiple busses that operate that night, they can't fit everyone into the same bar at the same time. They usually end at Carlos 'n Charlies for the cruise ship people (close to the cruise ship pier), and the others go to Grammie's (a karaoke bar). 4. What time the tour begins/ends. For the people staying in Aruba, they plan it so the bus leaves the last bar at midnight (or a little after midnight depending on when they can get everyone on the bus!). Depending on when the cruise ship is scheduled to depart, they shift the schedule to make it work. 5. If you're on the regular tour and the bus breaks down, you could miss the ship. However, if you're on the cruise ship tour, and that bus breaks down, they'll hold the ship until they can get everyone back on board. 6. Price. It's usually cheaper to book directly with the company than with the cruise line. |
