Di, welcome to the board, and sorry you haven't gotten any replies yet. Aruba is a haven for couples, but that's not to say that there isn't a singles scene - just that as a married man I'm not knowledgable of it. I do know that we've been to Carlos and Charlies (downtown by the Marina), and it was very fun and 'happening'...for happy hours, pretty much every resort will have one every day - just make the rounds until you find/meet the right one!

di, i would suggest that tomorrow evening if you get a chance you sign into the aruba chat. some of the best information can be gotten there. i know i have talked to at least one or two singles on it and they may have the answers you need. just go to the top of this page and click on 'aruba chat'. it starts around 9pm mondays and thursdays.

The past couple of times we've eaten at Texas deBrazil I've seen an older bar crowd when leaving. The bar is very beautiful and they have a stage (not seen or heard any music though). It might start later then we've been there. I think that bar across from El Gaucho (starts with a G (Garfalo??)) also has an older crowd with music.

Thanks to everyone who passed along some suggestiions for the night life of older singles. I am heading down with my 23 yr old son and his friends. Although, I do enjoy their company, would still like to meet up with folks my own age. Would also try the chat room you suggested. Thanks again

Hi DKL... I see that you're in West Chester, PA. I'm in Hatfield, PA. We're fairly close to eachother. Too bad you're not there when I am since I fly solo. I understand, although I've never been there, that the bar at the Holiday Inn has a lot of singles that are a little "older." Please post a trip report and let us know how your trip was. I'd be interested in knowing where the more "mature" singles adults hang out...

Try the Garufa cigar bar (right by el Gaucho). It's a very nice classy place with live music. Fridays, are Martini Madness nights there. It's a lot of fun. Also, Sunday afternoon at Moomba is a lot of fun. The band goes on at around 6:30 or so. You will meet a lot of people there. Mambo Jumbo and Grammys are another fun "late night" kind of place. Mambo Jumbo is usually too busy to talk to anyone, but Grammys is fun and not too crowded.
