Default Kid-friendly restaurants?

Any suggestions for kid-friendly places to eat? We're looking for places with good food, reasonably fast service and not a lot of noise.

Thanks

Kids are 1 & 4. One is very picky and the other has food allergies so we will probably bring special food for them. I think we are looking for a place the adults can enjoy where the kids would also be welcomed. We will probably eat out only one or two times.

there are several ways to do this. if they behave well in restaurants and don't run around (my grandkids do that and i get the strong urge to drag them out) then just about any restaurant is great. very few restaurants are not kid friendly in aruba.

if they require some stimulation to sit quietly, then a more casual place would be good. i would recommend alfredo's (any night but tuesday because of the bikers barbecue next door) where you can ask to be seated near a window and they can see mini golf and other activities out of the window. i would also recommend the paddock where they can sit and watch people walk by if you are on the street side or look out at the harbor if you are on the water side of this little downtown outdoor restaurant. the paddock has a much bigger selection, but even the picky eaters tend to like pasta so alfredo's menu may be good for you too.

The Buccaneer is also a good choice. One side had a large aquarium and the other side has individual aquariums at each booth. Kids love to sit and watch the fish. They also are used to having a lot of children at the restaurant.

Smokey Joe's might also be a good choice for you. It's across from Playa Linda, and has all outdoor seating. It's related to Iguana Joe's in Oranjestad, but is not as crowded or noisy.

Like Sherry said, there are very few restaurants that aren't kid friendly in Aruba. However, there are also not very many restaurants with "fast" service that can get you in and out quickly. Dining is more European, a leisurely meal where they would never want to appear that they are rushing you. You're more apt to find faster service at one of the major hotel restaurants, as they know that is what Americans are looking for. But if you can bring something to keep your children entertained (coloring book? game? favorite toy(s)?), you should be OK at almost any restaurant you choose.
