Default Bakeries

Just wondering if anyone knows of any good bakeries where I can buy good baked bread and pastries besides the Ling and Sons market?

Huchada, hands down! They are located in Santa Cruz, but also have a place in the Certified Mall in the low rise area. Yum!

Yes, Huchada in Santa Cruz is excellent. (It rivals my favorite in NYC, Rocco's on Bleeker Street to which I will make a pilgrimage tomorrow but not mention Huchada for fear of accusations of pastry infidelity.)

Seriously, I like Huchada and the ladies working there are absolutely charming in the old fashioned sense.

Photos are on my blog that is part of my signature.

Huchada rules, great cheescake, the baker is from the Netherlands, so.....
The store in Santa Cruz is great, but watch youre head, for the counter there's a beam on the ceiling that is very low , bumped my head twice .

I'm a fan of Bright Bakery for two reasons: its around the corner and their hot rolls straight out of the oven is to die for.....However, the pastries from Huchada is delish and so I don't mind popping into Santa Cruz. The branch at Certified is very easy to find...go into the Supermarket and its just on your right hand side before going thru the turnstile.
