I don't know Andrea. I do know that in the last week of October when I was there, it didn't look close to being done. Are any of our BBers there now?

I was at Lacabana for three weeks and returned home on Nov. 27/05 checked out the pool at the Villa and I would venture to say that it may not be ready till January unless they put a big push on the job. Lacabana looked great and we had a wonderful time.

I went down the slide head first with my chick on my back. Security was soon to come by and ask me to stop. Not sure why, I was just having fun. Although I had about 12 Heineken in me.

Amatuer slide compared to the Hyatts. Although with 12 heinekens in you- going down any slide can be fun!

Re: the pool renovations.

An aquaintance is on the Lacabana BRC Board, so I emailed him and asked!
He was there recently and his reply was:

""Apparently very little work is being done currently. The pool still has the exterior excavated.

We are not sure of the reason for the delayed construction. The standard answer seems to be the pool will be completed in two weeks. No one has said when the two weeks will begin.""

So, that answers my question.

It seens that La Cabana does not care to answer questions regarding the pool. I have asked the same question and haven't received an answer.

This is a picture from other board. It was taken on Dec. 10th.

It seems that they started renovating the pool and now stopped. Who knows why?

I am a VERY unhappy. The unit that I rented is #1513 which is ground floor at the swim-up bar. From the look of the picture, I don't want to even sit out on my patio. I am not going on vacation to look at a pile of dirt and a hole in the ground.

I could have rented a unit for $90.00 less at the other Villa (waterfall) pool, but I wanted were I am as my nephew will be with me and I thought it would be nice that he was near the slide pool.

I am not upset because they are renovating the pool as I can understand that maintenance has to be done. I am VERY UPSET that they started this project and don't care about their guests to get it completed in time for the Holidays.

Hello Liz,
Just returned from our 2 weeks at LaCabana. We went out to see pool construction almost daily, and I can tell you this, they are working on the pool every day, but weekends. In order to see what is going on you have to stand on your toes to peak over the wooden fence they have put up to hide their mess. It looks to us like they are re-styling (if that is a word), that entire pool. There are now what we think are 2 hot tubs, and design of pool is a bit different. The swim up bar is still there. They still have a lot of work to do before it is completed.
Out at the BRC pool area they have taken away a huge area and built a "spa", if you can believe that one. It is a cute building, but should have been put out near Dunkin Donuts. It has taken way to much room away from sun bathers. It also has taken away view from owners on all floors on the left side of the pool area, not all owners, but plenty of them.

Thanks for the info, pg! So many people have been asking about the pool. Please give us a whole trip report when you have time!
