Default Ladies of the Night

I've been to Aruba several times, but have stayed mainly in the hotel/Oranjestad area. I've heard (whether it's truth or not) that there are some "ladies of the night", providers, or whatever you prefer to call these women in San Nicolas.

Is this true? If so, I'm looking for as much info as possible.

When you arrive on the island pick up one of the daily free newspapers and at the back pages there are several ads for clubs, escort services and everything else you are looking for.

Wink Re: Ladies of the Night

BobbyN...all I would caution you to, is the fact that these girls are from Colombia and South America....nuf said. Health care by them is suspect at best...I lived in Aruba from 92-99 and I heard many many times of the girls contracting and passing AIDS onto their clients.......don't go on vacation only to bring back what you'll never get rid of.......yes they are in the newspapers but their are unregulated contrary to popular tourists beliefs.......

Thanks for the warning......that's all I needed to know.

I think I'll PASS on the Aruban "ladies" and wait til I get back to the friendly confines (no....not Wrigley Field).

Talking Re: Ladies of the Night

Wise Choice BobbyN......I wasn't about to pass judgement on you, I just wanted to give you some food for thought. Be safe and happy and live a long life ! There is sooooo much to do in Aruba you'll be exhausted by the end of each night and won't even miss the ladies of the night !

Have a great vacation ! Aruba truly is a paradise ........

Exclamation Re: Ladies of the Night

There is a redlight district in San Nicolas, thes women are tested for aids very often, if you have been living here 5 years ago and think that nothing has changed.......give me a break.these hookers get a permit for 3 months after they have been tested for hiv, plus they will use protection and will let you use protection!!

the adds in the paper are call girls, or escort service, they will be brought to your hotelroom and they have also been tested.

mike, still living on Aruba

Exclamation Re: Ladies of the Night

Mike......your so mistaken....I worked Immigration for 4 years while in Aruba and those girls get NO PERMITS from the Aruban Gov't to be there as prostitutes. Do you really believe the people of Aruba would allow their gov't to give work permits for such crap......you may live in Aruba, but you don't know Arubans.......being married to one I got a very intimate look at what is fact and what is fiction on the island.......and this is one falsehood that goes on and on......They are on the island illegally and work illegally and they DON'T get tested ever....we used to deport em on a regular basis.....but believe what you must......

ok everyone. i am not sure what the truth of this matter is but we do know that prostitution is allowed on the island. i am sure that there are both legal and illegal prostitutes. both those who do and don't follow the laws of the land. either way, the question has been asked and answered.

so, before the members i care about get into a battle over something that we can't change, i will close this thread. i will not eliminate it unless the webmaster wants me to. i think it is important to at least have some answers out here for everyone to see and then determine what they will do. freedom of choice is a good thing.

if anyone has a copy of the laws on this matter, i would love you to send them to me. that way, i can post them for all to see and we will finally have the answers.
