Well Aruba Bob- We leave Alaska at 9:20pm 3-31 and arrive in Aruba at 8:30pm on 4-1 so with the 5 hour time change I am just under 20 hours of travel time.

I know it is a long way to go but the last time I went to St. Maarten in 2000 it was so worth the flight. My sister and her husband are meeting us there for her 40th birthday. They live in California and have almost as long of a trip.

We are staying for two weeks and leave the 15th of April. Staying in Renaissance Beach Resort the first week and La Caban Villa's the second week.

oh by the way JCKRBTAK---Unlike the drinking water in "Cancun", which I think many people from the west coast USED to go...the drinking water Aruba is better than bottle water...So if you go to the supermarket in Aruba, don't waste your money on cases of Water...just buy a couple of btls and re-fill from the tap...save your money for the important things like the casino's and tropical drinks!!!!!!!

I woke up this morning,and my wife says 46hrs. and were out of here. I think she is excited.Ha Flying out of Midway(Chicago). BigPapa

44 days for us. This is our first trip also and April can not get her fast enough!!! We are staying at the Renaissance.

35 days left now!!!!!!!!!! We are also staying at the Renaissance, check in April 1-8th. We will probably see each other and never no it. It is our first time too.

10 days after 10 more inches of snow.....I can't take it anymore, they are also forecasting another big storm for next Monday night into Tuesday UGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Will it ever get here?

We booked our trip Friday for the late summer. We like to go in
late July. Most people have completed thier vacations and things
aren't quite so hectic. As always,we booked through Amy at MCM
tours. She's always a great help. This will be our 5th trip to Aruba.
One thing I noticed, not a good thing though, the return flight on
USAIR which used to depart about ~2:30 in the afternoon has been
changed to ~12:30. We loose a couple of hours of last minute time
on Sat. We will give us a longer layover in Charlotte for dinner
before we board a plane for Kansas City. Sooooooooooooo
we are 144 days and counting.

ps, one thing I noticed this year fom the midwest, the vacation deals
are not super fantastic..................

We'll be arriving in 45 days, staying at Lacabana. I feel like I already know a lot about the island just because of this board, and all you friendly folks who are so generous with your insights and experience.

Just came back 39 days ago. Will be back at La Cabana in 51 days. This time going will my husband at our new timeshare week. Last month with 3 girlfriends.

I don't think it is fair for people to go more than once a year. Just kidding. Have fun. I am now at 120 days.

Yes Elisabeth I'm sure that was us! Boy was that a bumpy ride coming back but lots of fun!! I was so sick that night when we went to the French Steakhouse. I thought the girls were playing a joke on me by swaying back and forth. They swore the did not :<) I'll have to take my dramamine (sp) the next time with me. Can't belive we were so close and did not meet. Maybe next time. Will you be there the same time in Aruba?

If I remember tomorrow I'll bring my camera chip to work and download the picture for you. I was with my husband and 4 of our kids...so I was behaving and enjoying watching them snorkel. I had sealegs for the first time in my life that night. I grew up surrounded by water...and never felt anything like that before...The small boat we had to take back to land was a killer!!!

Approx. 71 days till next trip...then back in November!

We have 221 Days til our first trip to Aruba! We just finished making our plans. Exchanging for a timeshare in Divi Village Beach & Golf for a week in October. And I am just so happy to have discovered these message boards - lots of great tips!!

ok frank, i see in your profile you are a doctor. it was a doctor who introduced us to aruba. 7 years? med school? if so, lecture from friend of several doctors. go there, get off the plane, leave the title in philly, and never put anything fancier than shorts and sandals on that body. oh and don't allow the grin to leave your face the entire vacation, lol.

you DO need that vacation more than most of us.

I can't wait....I am going to sit down on a beach....close to the bar with a book, some music and vegetate for about 48 hours. Then, I'll turn over

Frank... one, two, three .... I can handle it!! You're going to do exactly what I did...totally vegetate, read and listen to music - but, if you turn over after 48 hours, you're going to need a really good doctor!! Know any??

Remember, the sun is extremely strong because you'll be so near the equator... and, sometimes with the wind blowing, you don't realize how hot it is... Don't burn and ruin your vacation.

I got home on Feb. 19th and it hasn't stopped snowing since...

By the way.... I'm in Hatfield, but used to live in Bala Cynwyd long, long ago so I do know your area.
