Flying Fishbone over-rated and over priced - go to Marandi right on the water when great food and service or Marina Pirata where you actually dine on a pier. Calypso at CasaDelMar also great food and service right on the water.

I think the lighthouse restaurant is probably the most overpriced and blaahh
tasting food that I have ever eaten on the island. What about going there just for a glass of wine and enjoying the sunset? An option, although not overly scenic ;-) would be a nice seat outside on the balcony at Iguana Joes, have a wonderful local dish and watch the sites of downtown. Yup, not a view of the sunset or swans etc...but still an interesting scene nonetheless. |

Flying Fishbone is by far our favorite for food and ambiance (chairs and tables in the sand right next to the water's edge.)
We actually love the food at Marandi better than the Flying Fishbone but, the Flying Fishbone's ambiance cannot be beat. We've been to the restaurant at the lighthouse before and we thought the food was very mediocre and will not return there for dinner when there are so many other better places on the island. We still return there but only to sit outside at their bar at sunset for the view....then we go somewhere else for dinner.

I also vote with kevin and amy. On our last trip in April, the Mahi Mahi and shrimp and lobster dinners were excellent - better than previous years. The atmosphere is truely gorgeous. I have unreal photos of the sunset from FF.

Taylor Rae - Are you wanting to find a restaurant for your whole family or just your parents?? If it is for all of you, I would suggest Iguana Joe's downtown and Gilligans at the Raddison. Iguana Joes is on the second level and you can sit in the balcony area (which is open air) and watch the Harbor/Cruise ships and the downtown excitement. Gilligans is right behind the beach at the Raddison, so you can look at the ocean/boats/sunsets etc. If you want just for your parents then Flying Fishbone would be more appropriate (really romantic)
. It's up to you, all suggested restaurants I have heard great things about some are just more geared to romance.....
