Hey all,
Am seriously contemplating slowing down to a crawl on my postings on the other boards and moving to this one alomost exclusively. My reasons have to do with many factors - most of which are centered around the friendly and cooperative members of this board and the courtesy they have shown me and most importantly each other.

As you may or may not know, I like to write off the wall things and just sort of ramble on about daily life on this island. I have spoken to the ownership of this board and they have given me the "Go-Ahead" however I am interested to know (Be honest) if this would be interesting for those of you on this board. You can send me a private message if you want.

Am also considering focusing on timesharing issues as one of the main topics. This could develop into something interesting for those that own timeshare. Give me your opinion on that as well. Like I said - use private messaging if you want to, or post it openly.

You have a week to mull it around cause I am on my way to CUBA for a week of (hopeful) rest and cold Carib beers that are chilled on ice and not in a freezer.

won't take me more than a second to make up my mind charles. write all you want. as i told you many months ago when were first signing up for this board, you are an asset to all bb. even when you advertise you do it with dignity which in my opinion (as the queen, lol) makes you a decent person. your talks bring out many opinions and give us much to think about. please feel free at any time to write what you think about the island we love.

as to timeshares, i own one and use others so i love talking about them. write on my friend and enjoy.

obviously, the other members also have the right to their opinions and i agree they need to express them both negative and positive. that is the basis of this board and why we succeed. we respect each other. so, people...don't make my opinion the only one. speak out with pros and cons on this and every matter that we create threads about. you are the people that count. you are the reason we exist.

Well Charles ... You are such a nice man and this Is such a nice board ... I think it's a match made in Heaven. We all have a Fondness for your Island and when you write it reminds us why.

I float between 3 Aruba bbs. and this one is Run the Best ( In my opinion ) and is Sooooo Nice to be around.

Your coming here more often ... would only be an asset to everyone that would come here seeking information.

I'd love this to be the exclusive board for your postings for a lot of reasons - your vast knowledge of many things Aruba, your keen wit, and I especially love the thoughts you so eloquently write about. I'm guilty of going to another board simply to read, and I'm always captured by your words of something as simple as a "look," which really got to me, and although I wanted to share it on this board, it didn't seem like the fair thing to do.

Well Charles, you will get a yes vote here! I too have posted on the other boards. But this is my home, I feel I have made so many good friends here. If I pose a question, no matter how silly or even if it is not Aruba related I always will get kind and positive feedback.

I find I can always learn something new from everyone on this board.

Charles you have made a good choice. I too am a timeshare owner and would love to hear your ideas and any tips you may have.

Sorry to chime in late on this one (I was kinda tied up yesterday). Nothing new to add from me. I, too, go to two other Aruba boards but this one is my home base. I love your posts, Charles, and I'm pleased to read your opinion of this board in particular because I feel the same way.

We will be in the Miramar area. Family lives in a place called San Augustin, however it is not my favorite place. Rough to get to and nothing to do.

Since Charles gave me his permission, here's a little something he wrote on another board that, when you think about it, is so true!
I present Mr. Charles Croes....<drum roll>
That Certain Look



That look at work when you are only about one week from boarding on the way to Aruba. People just know you're going on vacation by your look. It is a "going-on-vacation-to-Aruba-look. Ever wonder how all of those folks that are pretending to be happy for you are really feeling? I think Envy is the right word.

"At-the-airport-and-waiting-to-board-look". This is the one that has attitude. Can be snowing outside and all cars frozen in their tracks, but YOU - yes YOU, are in a warm airport and are wearing a flowered shirt with bermuda shorts. Maybe even a baseball cap and pair of sunglasses propped in there somewhere. Heck, I have even seen this look enhanced with a white smear of zinc oxide smeared on the nose. What were they scared of? Airplane burn? NOPE , it has to do with the LOOK.

The "Travelling look". That is a big one. Could only be your second flight to Aruba .... but ... you are going to have that "know it all" look . You will smugly tell anyone that wants to know all about the Aruba airport and taxis etc. and while doing it will have that LOOK. Don't ya just love it? I do.

Then there is the "Walking in to the lobby look" The one where you look at all the folks that will eventually recognize you and expect them to do so at that momment. It is a great look because it means comming home. It means that things are OK and that you are going to have a great vacation. This particular look is often combined with the "Sure I remember you" look. The one where someone greets you or says hi when you arrive and you greet them as if you only departed yesterday. That look is often combined with the turning of your head and asking your better half - "Honey, who was that?" Followed by "SHHHH not so loud" look.

Great happy look s all of them

Walking the pool deck look

Walking into a jewelery store to not buy jewlery look

Not admitting that the water is colder than you anticipate when you enter the surf look. Especially at the lower abdomen level.

"I just lost all my money" look as you walk out the casino

"I just won a ton" look (but really lost) as you walk out of the casino.

Hey - "its' a casino" - look

Then there is the - "we leave tomorrow look"

The "Drive to the airport look"

The "Boarding the plane " look

And then the best one of them all ..

The "Yeah I got my tan in Aruba" look. This one is particular effective at the office. Smug feeling isn't it?

So - go and practice your looks. Aruba expects them from you.

Charles, if there is one place in cyberspace to discuss Aruba and also go off the wall, it is here - I make a living proving it nearly every day!

As for 'that certain look' look - as a veteran poker player, I only have one constant look, regardless of the situation. No one can ever tell what's going on in my complex mind. Go ahead, try and guess what I'm thinking right now!
