This is my first post (with a little help from my friends). It is nearly impossible to find a full piece bathing suit this time of year in NJ and with Christmas and only 3 days to flying time, forget it! I have one but not thrilled with it. Any ideas where I may go to shop for a suit in Aruba? No small little thing, I am middle aged and love my Italian bread!

I don't know the name of the shop, but there is a shop at LaCabana that carries larger size really nice looking swimsuits for women. They were reasonably priced also. Go into main lobby, take a right down hallway beside the Deli, and it is right down that hall on the right hand side. Good luck. And, have a wonderful trip!!!!!

I wish you wrote earlier. I buy all my suits off E-Bay. They are brand new with tags and panty shield still attached. They are returns from QVC, HSN and popular catelogs. Unfortunately 3 days is not enough time to receive one. I need to buy special suits for my double D's and the brand It Figures works really really well for me. I love them but they are extremely expensive. $78.00-98.00 each. I buy them off E-Bay for around $29.99. Sometimes I buy 2 of the same (different sizes, one for the bottom and one for the top) and I still save $$.

This mini whale buys her suits from H2Owear.com and sometimes from
ebay I get Speedos.

I wish that I knew the name of the store in O'stad that has the suits in plus sizes, but it is there!

and yes the shop at lacabana has a fairly decent selection is sizes up to 22

The other shop I saw plus sizes was that huge department store, something Linda in downtown. You would walk thru Seaport Mall, walk across the square and it was down that street on the left. The women's department is upstairs. Hope this helps.

And it is an attention-getter, arubareader! I third LaCabana shops! I bought a beautiful suit there in October, I am no skinny minny either. They are expensive but a nice quality. Good Luck!

Also a very nice shop in the lobby of Casa Del Mar. You now have lotsa places to go. I just ordered a few suits online and am sending 2 back!! I always tell myself I'm not going to order bathing suits online and then fall into the same old trap!!

Whatever you wear on the beach in Aruba will be fine. I cant hide my belly anyway so I dont try(Italian bread and everything else). We have seen a 300 pound lady in a bikini and a lady at least 8 months pregnant in a thong. So go with whats comfortable and dont worry about it.

I ordered a swimsuit earlier this morning and just got an email telling me "it has been shipped". WOW, that is fast service. That one I ordered from the website I found today, www.swimsuitsforall.com

Now I must admit that whenever I go to Aruba I always order at least 6 swimsuits, they come, I try them on, if I like them I keep them, if I don't they get sent back. I usually end up with 1 out of 6. My hubby is always making fun of me for doing this. He will see the package and say, "Is this a keeper or a sender backer?"
Of course you guys need to keep in mind that hubby has NEVER bought himself a swimsuit, I pick out and buy them all for him, he never says, take it back, so I must have good taste. He likes the microfiber ones the best, he says they are really comfy and they dry quickly.

PG - I found at least 4 suits on the other site that I'm going to order. I normally order them, don't like them and then have to pay shipping and insurance to send them back!! It costs $6.00 to try on a suit!!! lol

Reading the other site quickly.... I believe shipping and handling is free, but going to go back and read.

I'm there 21 days so I usually take about 10 suits like an idiot!! lol

Thank you so much! I am only 4'11" but I am less to 145lb ( a virtual beach ball with huge "balls" all mine unfortunately so gravity has taken hold) & the suits I've seen on the islands (Tortola, Puerto Rico, etc.) are usually thong-like.
And sorry but thank you for the guy who answered and I agree "if it makes you happy, wear it, who cares" I would be SO uncomfortable! Being "old school" I rather not wear it or see it unless you truly look good in it. Back in the day....1981 I wore some string bikini in Puerto Vallerta & i was hot. Two kids and many years later...leave it for the youngsters!

Aruba, you are a riot! You fit right in around here!

I know this is late but there are 2 bathing suit stores in N.J. that I go to. One is Helen Hirsch in Verona. All they carry are bathing suits and coverups. They have suits from size 2 to big sizes.

There is also a bathing suit store in Pt. Pleasant. It is in the main shopping area and I cannot think of the name of it now.

Thank you to all! We leave Newark airport Christmas morning at 7:00AM on American. Was a nonstop, now it isn't, who knows, we go through SJU. As long as I am on a plane to vacation who cares! The hardest thing I will have to decide is do I have a Bloody Mary as soon as I can or wait until it's noon somewhere! We will be at CPV from 12/25 to 1/7!!! Me & all my boys. 3 sons & one hub with my brand new daughter in law on her first trip there. (It was their wedding gift-airfare & room).

For you gals that are leary of ordering swimsuits on line,the one I ordered on Dec. 22nd from www.swimsuitsforall.com, arrived today, the (24th). Now that is FAST shipment.!!!!It came Priority Mail (ground shipping) at a cost to me of $5.95. If it does not fit, or I don't like in on, it is FREE to ship back to them. Have not tried it on yet, but will after I shower this evening. The colors are pretty "vibrant", but I think I like it, if it will just fit!!!!! I normally order from Lands End and it takes 7-10 days to arrive at my door.
Just thought you might want to know this info. (I know you guys could care less, but we women must stick together when it comes to swimsuit shopping.)

I realize this doesn't help with arubareader's predicament, but for future reference www.bizrate.com offers tons of swimsuit sites. I ordered two from www.landsend.com that look & fit great this year.

I forgot to let you know that the swimsuit I ordered from swimsuitsforall.com fit. I love it!!! So, I went to their website and ordered another one. The suit I ordered first is as great a quality as the ones I always ordered at Lands End, and cheaper too!!!! And way cheaper than the ones I have ordered at swimwearboutique.com.
So glad to hear you ordered and liked yours also, and 3 at that!!!!!!

The prices are very reasonable compared to what I usually pay from ABLamdin.... and, it's unusual for all the suits to fit right and be comfortable. These are definitely wonderful!!

FYI-to all you women swimsuit buyers
Designers say-when buying a swimsuit you need to order 1 size bigger than your NORMAL DRESS size. They're right as far as my fit is concerned.
Just thought you'd like to know the rule of for buying that new swimsuit!!!!!

I ordered my normal size too, not one size up.
