Default a camel comes to randallstown

this is a follow up to the 50 questions game we played for mother's day. 2 weeks ago candy came to visit from africa. we met in atlantic city and i received my mother's day gifts. one i didn't even unwrap until i got home. the first was a very clean and sturdy camel lower jaw and the other was a very meaty but obviously deceased camel's skull and upper jaw.

as i sit gazing out toward my back deck, i can see a container. in that container is water. in the water is a skull. it is not a halloween trick or treat. it is a much less meaty skull. it is in its 3rd soaking to clean it up. it seems this final soaking can take a week or two. at that point it will dry and go into the living room cabinet for viewing. the lower jaw is already there resting alone.

i have named my camel. i was going to tell you the name but i decided that 30 questions were in order. those of you who know me well should be able to figure out the name of my 'meatless' friend. those who don't know me as well should be able to get it if they 'think warped'. for the very few who already know-- shhhhhhhhhhh!

have at it...

hmmmm, no questions yet? i swear people, this camel must have died a natural death or whatever is natural for a desert, lol. it had been there for a while. camels aren't something hunters mount on their walls after killing them for sport.

so, now any guesses on the name?

Although interesting, I don't get it. This is wayyyy too complicated for me to play. I guess I'm just not that deep.

chris, nothing deep about it. you've met candy. she got me this odd mother's day gift that she picked up off the desert floor. it is a camel skull and jaw. it is about ready for display and since it is certainly an odd item and will start some even odder conversations when we have visitors in our home so murray asked me if i was going to give my camel a name just as you do with living pets. i came up with a clever (i think) name for it and thought it would make a great game of 20 questions trying to figure out what the name is.

The only thing I am still confused about is (and I do 'get' the game now...thanks for explaining it simpler....duh......) what was Candy THINKING getting you that gift to begin with?

well, after 3 weeks doing a photo assignment with the rebels of some country or another, living in the desert, eating 'sand bread' and other local tasty tidbits, and sleeping with one eye open, she was leaving the desert and realized it was mother's day and she hadn't gotten me a gift. she thought i would get a kick out of it as a very weird conversation piece. actually, she is right. everyone i know is fascinated by it and can't wait to see it on display. we are slowly getting a mini museum of items she brings back. this is certainly the most unusual, lol.

So if I were a camel what would my name be?
Hummm...let's see...since you can't answer the gender of this particular beast...maybe you can tell me what color was it?? hahaaha. No seriously, how many legs did it have?? No huh? Okay, just what kind of questions does one ask about a skull and jaw that had no body attached to it? Any identifying marks??? Here's a guess....SKULLY....here's another one..JABBER JAWS...okay I'm all guessed out....oh wait...how about JOE THE PLUMBER??? (Sorry the commercial was just on).

ruba, if i hadn't already picked a name, joe the plumber would be it. what a great idea! however, in 12 years i would have to explain it to another generation of voters. of course, the name i have chosen will need explanations too.

identifying features? it has teeth that are big. it is a dromedary because of the geographical location. as to ***, haven't a clue. color i imagine is furry tan???? or is that just what i used in my coloring books as a child???

btw, there is a clue in this rambling reply.

i also think, if i counted right, that 4 guesses are gone.

nope, sorry... wish it was...

trying to think of a clue that wouldn't give it away... think of what kthy and linda said and add a smidge of the name you used and that will give it away.
