janet and i can't be the only ones on this board who have incidents. i've certainly monopolized this board over the last few weeks with one after the other.

how about the rest of you? are there times you feel jinxed? janet said her time is right before vacation. mine is usually right before a big holiday dinner. when is your 'murphy's law' moment? what happens?

Mr. Murphy doesn't visit frequently, but when he does well... the man who taught me how to run a tugboat used to say, "Now that the fire's out and the water's not coming in, I suppose we can deal with that supertanker that's about to run us over."

Mine is before a vacation as well. Our "crises" have included:
dog gets sick on chinese food and racks up a $350 bill
cat disappears 2 days before trip
basement floods a week before trip
airline goes bankrupt a week before trip
daughter gets an ear infection before flying
husband gets a kidney stone days before trip
and finally:
I break my toe before trip to Italy....

I remember several of those things as they happened. Here are my traveling travails:

I broke my right shoulder about 6 weeks before my triumphant return to Aruba (after 34 years) back in 2006. That kinda sucked but I am a physical specimen and I healed rapidly. Then I hurt my foot walking on treacherous terrain and could barely hobble into Texas de Brazil with Mariza that night.

Other than that, I've led a charmed existence (yeah, right).
