oh my, i forgot to post about it. maybe i will create an album here? we look like a jungle. we have figured out all of the mistakes we made this year (and there were many) and next year it will be double the jungle.
the amazing thing is nothing can keep these plants down. the vandals tried but most came back to life. it slowed them but we actually have to walk from one side to the other on the outside of the structure. there are many many cucumbers of both the pickling and seedless varieties, we have picked several sweet type peppers (cubanella seems to be a favorite) and it looks like the jalapeno plant is about to lose its first pepper to my greedy hands. the string beans have been wonderful. i will be cooking our fourth pot full for dinner tonight.
the tomatoes are interesting. we have some very unusual cherry tomato plant that looks more like an asian mini tree than tomatoes and the others that survived the vandals, which are all roma, probably have more than 500 green tomatoes on them that should ripen over the next few weeks and many hundreds of flowers that will grow and ripen while we are in aruba.
the funny thing is someone brought over more cucumbers of some variety that they had grown from seed and we potted them. they are starting to grow. plus somehow they thought we wanted sunflowers so they are now potted and growing. add to that mix the watermelons and cantaloupes that wouldn't die and our very first watermelon growing hydroponically is now about 3".
now aren't you sorry you asked, lol. i will post pictures when i get thru using the treadmill (first attempt after getting it) and run my errands.
