lots of searching for the positives since last saturday.

i've learned that my family completely extends to all i have gotten to know on this board.

i've learned that the arubans are even better people than i thought before.

i've learned that we can handle more than we thought

i've learned that travel insurance doesn't include theft

i've learned the american consulate in curacao needs some upgrading

i've learned the state department doesn't know as much as i thought (which means they know damned little)

i've learned that insurance companies do less than even i thought (which means they do damned little)

i've learned that the friendships i am developing on this island are some of the best and will last a lifetime.

and on a side note, i've learned that lizzardo has the cutest kittens i have ever seen up for adoption and if any cat lovers that have space for them don't take them they are foolish.

Excellent message and I think it sets out some goals for all involved. Reminds us all that we can always do a little more to make things a whole lot better. Now we know what to do, so let's get to doing it.

Very nice list of positives and negatives, sherry. I could go off on the subject of insurance companies but it really isn't necessary and I might offend someone along the way. I also realize that no amount of human/Aruban kindness can make this whole episode all seem worthwhile but I am glad (and not the least bit surprised) to hear about how your friends on the island have responded.
