At this point October 13 works for me too, October seems like a light year away
![]() How many people have made reservations already? Are you staying at the Hilton or some where else? Any idea on the cost? Staying the whole weekend or just Saturday night? Do you normally get a big turn out? This sounds like so much fun!! ![]() You ate subs on the boardwalk in October? Brrrrr. I have to laugh because there are days in June that are cold on the boardwalk, I will remember to bring my snow suit ![]() Connie |

as the leader of the pack we have it where i get a room. i have been assured a room for 0ct 13th. also have been told that a room is likely on the 20th. it is a much tougher and busier weekend due to the antique show so rooms are at a premium. i will stay friday to sunday and will have a late check out. last year several stayed at non casino hotels. that if you don't have players cards i would recommend that.
last year it was 12 or 13 people if i recall but this year looks bigger. we counting who either voted or posted we are already at 15 and i know of a few more that are talking about it and it is still early. i meals are rather cheap. lunch on saturday would be around $10 per, dinner is around $20 per and breakfast worked out to $15 per plus tips of course. i can tell you the casinos are not cheap at all to stay at or gamble at. for next year i am looking into something like an all inclusive in the poconos or amish country in pa. it would probably be cheaper for everyone except me who gets her room comped. yes, we ate subs on the boardwalk in october. it was a little chilly but not bad at all. the sun was bright and it was about 60 degrees. the wind was the only problem. if the weather is bad we can camp out in my room for lunch and send the guys for subs, lol. any more questions anyone? As an FYI, I was in Lancaster (Amish country) last Saturday. I hadn't been there in a long time. We had a blast. Went to the American Music Theater to see a show, to the outlet stores, and then to a Smorgasbord dinner. I couldn't believe how many tourists were all over the place!
Unfortunately or fortunately, for me, I'm not into gambling at all so have only made AC one time, the very first one we had. Charlie, Corrine and I drank through our evening... I look forward to somewhere other than AC.... |

elaine, i hope this jan or feb to start checking into lancaster. it would be a great place to go next fall. for me it is just a short hop so i love it and i love the area. plenty to do from the amish market to the shows and the smorgasbords... which one did you eat at? there was a big one there that we loved. the name has escaped me. my problem was finding a good hotel but that is just a little bit of research.

I would bring my bus groups to Miller's. Then they got too expensive (over $20 for lunch buffet). Now I bring my groups to Shady Maple. Lunch price was under $16. ('06 price). Unbeleivable amount of food. Though they don't take reservations for groups on weekends.

Liz ~ we went online and printed out $3.00 coupons. Dinner was $19.95 less the $3.00! I wouldn't go back though.
As for reservations, maybe we could work something out with Shady Maple ~ never know! Quote:

well, maybe i will wait for march (sorry elaine) and start checking out hotels. i am worried as much about quality as price for meals and rooms.
the other place i would like to check is the poconos where there are also outlet malls and many of the hotels have entertainment. if anyone knows of a place there that they have been to and loved, let us know. i would like to make whichever area we stay in not too hard for the east coast people but easier for those in the more western and northern areas. any suggestions?? post them or send me a pm and i will gather the ideas. |

Woodlock Pines is a popular place in the Poconos though it probably would be too expensive expeically on a weekend in Oct. at fall foliage time.
