Thanks for starting this thread Amy! So far it looks like we've got some work to do to find a date that works for more than one of us though - anyone that would like to suggest alternate dates please feel free to provide your input. I chose the 31st, but we could probably do either...

To anyone interested in joining that lives in the area, but are having schedule difficulties - this is not as major a gig as the BB party in Atlantic City last year, which involved hotels and plane tix etc. This is an informal eve of dinner/drinks for those of us in the DC metro area, meaning you don't need to set aside an entire wknd (or even an entire day) for it. Of course, any 'out-of-towners' are also welcome!

Depending on who signs up and where you're coming from, we can meet somewhere in MD or VA or DC. Let's hear from you!

Alright DC area locals, it looks like we're a go for April 1 - please, no pranks!

The next big decision is the location. I think the two easiest spots - located near 495 - are Bethesda's White Flint (Bertucci's, PF Changs) and Tyson's Corner (Maggianos, Brio Tuscan Grill, Gordon Biersch). I'm fairly certain all of those places take reservations (or phone ahead). I'm also open to any suggestions - I just think we need to choose a place that will take a reservation (or phone ahead) being that we're a party of 8 and it's a Saturday night.

We would love for the party to be in Tysons area - in fact if that's where we end up, we're perfectly fine with either Friday or Saturday eve. There are bazillions of restaurants in the area, all within a mile of the beltway (if we choose Tysons I'll take care of reservations etc)...I know of at least one member couple (not listed in the above vote) that would like to attend but is only available on Friday eve.

Any preference from the rest of you on:
Tysons vs Bethesda?
Friday vs Saturday?

i haven't been in that area in years but mapquest will get me there. just tell me which day, what time, a name, and an address and i can be there.

from whatever list, if you can find out which ones definitely take reservations that might be key. i don't even know the names of any places there any more.

Friday night is the only time we can make it. We're leaving for St.Maartens that Sat. If Sat. is more convient for everyone else, we understand.Would like to see everyone before we leave.
If not ,Kevin, your quickie idea for Fri. sounds googd. I (Tom) like quickies.

For selfish reasons, we would pick Tysons.
Saturday still works best. If it's Friday, we'll have to limit our time there. We have a very busy EARLY morning on Saturday, with the whole family heading in several directions.

Yes, I spoke to Jimbo and he thought this was a BB party in Aruba. He realized his mistake after he voted.

Clyde's is fine with us, we've been there several times. The only reason we didn't suggest it was the limited menu. I didn't know if there would be something for everyone.

But we're good with either night and pretty much any restaurant.

I would agree with Amy, Clyde's is a good spot but it's menu may be a bit limited for an eclectic group. Any comments from the rest of you re their menu? If everyone's OK we can roll with it. Tyson's has MANY restaurants, so it's just a matter of picking one. Loren and I have a bad history with Maggiano's, so we'd like to exercise a veto there

The Tysons area is notorious for it's traffic, and on a Friday afternoon it may be worse than normal, so keep that in mind when considering the 6:30 start. We will have no probs making it, but I'll wait to hear from Sherry and Amy and Tom/Donna (and Hoo) before anything gets set in stone. Glad to hear that C&B are on board for this one!
