I'll begin since I was one of the few in favor of this type of thread, and I'll be good..... promise!! I'll be in Aruba from January 29th, 2005 until February 21st, 2005. Although I have family there at the same time, and friends that I've made through the years, it's always nice meeting new people. I know, as one who is alone, and not by choice, that there are other singles there... perhaps for the first time, who would like to have someone to spend an evening with. This board is a wonderful way to network... and perhaps someone who's thinking about going to Aruba, but because they are solo and have a fear of doing it... will reconsider. Do I have to tell my age??? lol

Kevin, I feel very fortunate to have three weeks... Hopefully, in a few years, I'd like to buy another week and have a month. I've been lucky enough over the years to make lots of friends... both timeshare owners and local people, so I always have fun! Wouldn't it be nice if some year all the friends we made on this board could be there together? Thanks for your support... one never knows what can happen!

Ang..... I totally agree with you.... people are people, but single people feel like a third, fifth or seventh wheel. I only emphasized the solo thing to let other singles feel more comfortable with being on vacation alone. Perhaps we can meet since we'll be there at the same time! I'd love it!!

I very much understand because in Aug 1999 I visited Aruba 'alone'. I planned on being alone but somehow I was always meeting people. Not everyone feels you are a third, fourth or seventh wheel and are welcome to have you as company.

** I think its a good idea to add you name to the new BB calendar so we all know who will be in Aruba the same time as us.

Ang.... no one has ever made me feel like a third wheel, it's just me, and how I feel. When I'm in Aruba, I go out with other couples as well as single people.
I didn't realize the BB calendar was set up for next year.... Now that I know, I will add my name to it... Thanks!

Hi everyone, I just moved here to sunny Aruba from the US with my son. We don't know a lot of people so I am going to check back here and hopefully I can meet up with some of you nice folks. Single or otherwise like I said just here with my son. So it would be nice to meet other people.
