Default So many motorcycle accidently lately.

There was another bad accident in Bacadera yesterday involving
a motorcyle.

If you just scroll on this website and look at the pictures -
you'll see how many really bad motorcycle accidents there
have been! Warning pictures can be graphic!

I Love Aruba Re: So many motorcycle accidently lately.

Wow Liz... it goes on and on.

Maybe the government ought to get busy, and do something about speeding, drunk driving, riding without helmets, spaying and neutering, to name a few, instead of worrying about building more hotels, and capturing dolphins for tourist "shows." Is anybody in the bureauacracy even paying attention or listen 'cause their priorities are sure screwed up big time!

Liz,
Yet another serious accident. I looked at the pictures and thought of all the years I have rented cars while in Aruba------and I can count the times I have seen or driven past a cruiser. This lack of police presence leads to the attitude shared by Arubans and visiters----that one can drive recklessly and not fear consequences. Here in the States we pretty much keep to the speed limit knowing that there are police all around us who will ensure that if we break the law (speed limit) we will pay--not only for the ticket but on our insurance for several years.

We rented a motorcycle many moons ago on our first trip to Aruba. My husband, who is a very responsible biker, said he would never do it again because the thin layer of sand on the roads made him nervous. On top of the sand issue, we've all been witness to some really reckless behavior. So sad that lives are being lost and nothing is being done.
