Default Getting Started-OK, I Registered. What Do I Do Now

you have registered by following this link: Aruba Forums at Visit Aruba - Forum Rules
and now:

1. You have decided to become a member and you filled in the registration form. Why canít you post? In order to post after registering, you must activate your registration. You will be sent an email. In that email will be a link. Click on that link and that will activate your registration. If your spam filters are set high, the email may be directed to your spam or junk folder. If you spam filters are set to only allow in emails from people you approve, you will obviously not be able to receive our email. Please lower your spam filter and contact us. We will then be able to communicate with you and help you out. Contact us if you continue to have problems.

2. You have activated your account and want to post. You are a novice at bulletin boards and havenít a clue how to do it.

Please remember to click on Ďremember meí when you sign in. Without doing that you will not be able to post.

There are several ways to post. The question is, are you doing it as a new thread (new topic) or in reply to a post already there?

If you are trying to post a reply and want to quote the specific post you are replying to, click on 'quote'. That will open a new page and you click on the big white section and type away. When done, click on 'submit reply'.

If you are trying to post a reply and do not want to quote any specific post, you will see 'post reply' on the upper left of the page. Click on that and then type and click on 'submit reply'.

If you are trying to start a new topic, on the home page of the board there are topics... click on the one you want (I.e. Aruba in general), click on 'new thread' which shows in the upper left of the page, give your thread a title in the narrow white section, then type your post in the big white section. Click on 'submit new thread' and you are done.

3. You have received an email notice of a private message. How do you reply?

In that email, a link is provided to the message. Click on that link. Follow that link to the personal message itself and reply directly to the personal message. DO NOT REPLY FROM THE EMAIL! If you reply to the email, the only people who will get it are the office staff. Sometimes your private messages really need to be private. You donít want us reading them. Make sure that you go to the board and the personal message itself to reply.

4. You have received an email notice of a response to a post you made. How do you reply?

In that email, a link is provided to the message. Click on that link. Follow that link to the thread and the reply itself and reply directly to it. DO NOT REPLY FROM THE EMAIL! If you reply to the email, the only people who will get it are the office staff. We are not the important people needing to see your response.

5. Are there any things you suggest that we do to maintain our privacy?

Since it bears repeating:

Do not give out your email to anyone on our board until you get to know them.

Do not post your email on our board.

When you set up your profile, allow only our administrators to access your email and send emails to you.
