Default Bicycling in Aruba

I've been riding my bike quite a bit since I arrived. I have a post on my blog showing a nice view from the top of the Savaneta water tank hill. You might like it. Here's a direct link: Top of the Hill The Bent Page

That's a tough climb, but you get to use all the gears and eat plenty afterwards. The wind can hold you back here in Aruba. This only enhances the workout. And as mentioned earlier, if you eat as much as I do, you better exercise or get a bike with bigger tires. Which reminds me, I'm off to the Great Rich for Sunday BBQ. Ahhhhh, yeaahhhh.

DH and I do quite a bit of bike riding. Is there a place to rent bikes on Aruba?

You can rent bikes from Tri-Bike Aruba in Santa Cruz. Don't know what the rates are or anything. Sorry.

PS: Always wear a helmet.

I Love Aruba Re: Bicycling in Aruba

Thanks Daniel. I do always wear a helmet. For an old fat gal, I'm not bad on a bike. Hills are not much of a problem, but I don't know about the wind. Thanks for the info.

I'm a little behind reading this post, but I ride quite a bit here at home. I've rented bikes from the Tam across the road, - we can rent them for about $15 for the day. But I've never gone very far and I did not have a helmet in Aruba. I think I'd better get one now though. Would love to venture out to Savaneta, etc. and do some actual sightseeing from a bike. You've now given me a new challange. I think the farthest we've gone is from the Tam out to Tierra del Sol which is a pretty good ride but we did have to go through some nasty traffic to get there. I think it's time to go in the other direction. Nice pictures, thanks.

Daniel,
I too enjoy bike riding at home---but now I know I will rent a bike next year while in Aruba. By the way-----it was so nice being with you and Heather at Amsterdam Manor, and again at chickee 27 at ABC with Elaine. Looking forward to seeing you again next year.

I did some biking in Aruba. If I was there now I would go through the Arikok park now that they did the entire road. Makes it so much easier. I did it when there where only rocks and sand.
