Default ? about Renaissance Marina Hotel

If you stay here can you use the pool at the Ocean Suites hotel??
How is the beach on the private island? Are there a lot of good restaurants within walking distance?

Thanks for all your help!

---- Both the Driftwood and Rumba are a very short walk.

Yes, you can use the Ocean Suites pool. If you don't want to walk, they have a shuttle between the two hotels (by golf cart). Besides Driftwood and Rumba's both Que Pasa www.quepasaaruba.com and Yemanja Woodfired Grill www.yemanja-aruba.com are wonderful.

The private island is very nice. They have soft sand, palm trees, hammocks, lounge chairs, beach towels, red sail sports shop, restaurant, iguanas, flamingos and other wild life. The island is devided in two sections. The section to the left as you leave the docks is the family section and has the restayrant. The section to the right of the docks is the "adult beach area". The snorkeling is better on the adult side. You can get a massage or a couples massage on the island.
Just try not to forget to take everything you will need to the island, because you can only get there and back by water taxi from the resort. That means about an hour to go back to the hotel to get what you left behind and get back to the beach assuming you dont miss the next taxi.

There are, as has been said, many fine restaurants within walking distance. There are several at the seaport marina. There are several on the street in front of the hotel and even El Gaucho is only about 7 blocks from the rear of the hotel. We enjoy Iguana Joes and the Paddock for lunch.

Hi kcgirl,

These are all good answers, trust that you'll love Ren Island and the large selection of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The boat shuttle to the island is bried and pleasant, so even if you forget something (and go back and forth a couple of times) there are worse ways to spend your time. No worries!

I'd forgotten about Iguana Joes - great location, good food and drink, and their hot sauce makes everything better!

I can give you an across-the-board YES on every question you have asked. The facilities at the Ocean Suites are entirely interchangeable with the Marina and you can use your Marina room number to charge meals and drinks at the Ocean Suites' bar and restaurant.

The beaches (plural) on the private island are sort of small and they are man-made but they are also excellent. The setting is ideal, with the mangrove swamp hemming everything in and the jetty blocking off the open sea. The sand is soft and the water is clear, shallow, and warm.

As for restaurants within walking distance of the Marina, I cannot even begin to list all of them. Not counting the restaurants in the hotel itself, there are at least a dozen great places within a very short walk from the marina. In fact, as I sit here thinking about it, I can come up with about two dozen restautants within walking distance; every one of which is good and most of which are great.

As you might be able to tell, I love staying at the Marina.
