OK everyone, we're closing the other threads about Natalee due to their length and merging, and are starting another single thread. We can all continue to post our thoughts and speculations and news reports here as desired, with a few guidelines to be followed:

-any talk of violence will be deleted;
-any talk of boycott will be deleted (incl Alabama and Aruba);
-anyone posting personal attacks will be warned, and then (I can't say what will happen next because I can't speak of violence);
-anyone posting anything humorous (but polite and NH-related) will receive brownie points from the POT. Keeping things light is a good thing.
-it's always helpful to cite a source when posting info or news, so please try to accommodate.

They are forcasting a 91 high here today, and this is on the coast of Maine. I can only imagine what it will be like inland

68 degrees is still 68 degrees. All I have is a stinkin ceiling fan above me. When I'm not working I can go in the pool and my dog from hell runs around it and barks because he's sure I'm drowning, or I can listen to my neighbors kids scream like banshees, oh yes, all kinds of peaceful relaxation there.

68 degrees no matter where it is sounds like a haven to me.

I was at the Marriott Surf Club the week of 21-28 May when the AC pipe broke. Lucky to have the ceiling fan. Almost as hot inside as it was outside. That week, it was unusually humid in Aruba. I was MUCH cooler keeping windows, doors and drapes closed, lights off. Funny to hear other guests complaining about the heat, while they had all the lights on, drapes and windows/doors open, etc., and had spent most of the day at the pool or beach in the HOT sun!

Searching for info on George Allen Smith IV, who disappeared from a cruise ship in Turkey, found this:

"The FBI reiterated that they would not release any details of its investigation, saying that it was still ongoing. Lisa Bull, the New Haven spokeswoman for the FBI, said her agency is working the case along with other international authorities who have their own purview."

So, if the FBI had been "put in charge", Natalee's family and the press wouldn't get ANY MORE INFO than they're getting now from Aruban authorities. And, the FBI would still be working with local authorities, not alone. Let's see if Nancy Grace beats up on the FBI, now.

The east coast is getting a little of what we get each summer in the South. It's something you'll never get used to. At 10:21 A.M., we(Alabama) are already at a 96 degree heat index. By 1 P.M., we'll be pushing 105-110 heat index.

Nope there is a difference in 68 degrees C and 68 degrees F.

I don't put much faith in the duct tape either. Seems the discussion of such came up early in the investigation (in the robbing of the boat shack) and it was pointed out that wind surfers/boaters/etc and such use this tape for all kinds of repairs. It would tape only a minor miscue to get four of your hairs caught on a piece of duct tape. Could be a long-hair male for all we know.

Why would Dave take Joran a copy of the "Purpose driven Life?" Isn't this just a tad presumptious? Does this imply that he never had a purpose before jail, or that he now will have one since he has been jailed

what is venezuela to aruba being so close and all.
hugo chevez is in the paper almost every day at this point.
today he has called the catholic church a tumor in his country, the head of the church has stated hugo chavez has taken over all goverment offices.
he has also purchased 100,000 ak47 from russia just 2 weeks ago.funny because he has not nearly that amount of military personal. and last but not least on may 31, the head of the democratic commitee from venezuela met with george bush. when she got back to venezuela she was arrested for trying to change hugos republican way of goverment.
we only buy some outradgious amout of oil from them here in the u.s.a.

the man from u.s.a. who disappeared from the ship near turkey is one cruise line incident.
number 2 is the woman who went missing from a carnivale cruise ship off belize just 3 weeks ago and almost no news at all on that one.
although the ships captain did turn the ship around and tried to do a full search before returning to texas on the last part of the journey. the fbi could find no foul play.

sorry none of that was about natalee.. or is it.

one guy in the protest outside of the court house was holding up a sign that said natalee is partying in venezuela.

I just read, 'Aruba Today', not very nice letters to the editor

This new board should be called "ALL THINGS NOT NATALEE." So far no one has talked about the DNA tests being done on the Kalpoe brothers and Joran. Obviously, investigators are hoping for a match with the hair found on the duct tape. It would be quite a coincidence if everyone just happened to leave EXACTLY one hair on the tape.

By the way, the park ranger who found the duct tape said (on TV) that he was doing his normal duties and the area was not searched as a result of an anonymous tip. Also, the tape was found close to the location on a possible temporary gravesite that had been investigated earlier as a result of an anonymous tip.

Beth Twitty said the reward for the "safe return" of Natalee was now $200,000 and the reward for "finding Natalee" was $100,000. This smaller amount I assume is for finding her body. I believe that someone, who knew something Natalee's disappearance, would be tempted by this amount of money.

on the duct tape, first news here anyways ,geraldos brother as well as a people magazine reporter were there when it was found. then it was some secret tip, then finally we get the truth...the park ranger found it.

as far as dna i wonder if they are just getting the dna for all testing to be done, which sounds like they never had dna for the first tests that came back from the neatherlands. i remember earlier in the investigation where locals led police to an area around the marriot and found panties and 3 condoms 1 unused, also some underwear, here again on the beach we have sandles, hair band and a string bikini bottom, also the back seat of the car,how did they ever campare dna there? hers only i suppose.

Interesting post - I really expected to dismiss it as a far-fetched connection being implied, but instead I find myself intrigued. I'd much rather consider this type of info than ponder the possibility that the 4 hairs on the duct tape are 1 each from NH, Joran, and the bros...

With so much unknown re NH's whereabouts, and so little evidence (at least that we know of), what isn't possible?

Gary, many of us are enjoying a break from the drama, but rest assured that the thread will always return to its roots. If you're frustrated that no one is talking about the dna (or the possibility that all 4 hairs belong to each of the prominent parties involved), maybe that's because we're all waiting for the results before we run with anything - it's very likely that the duct tape and hair is just random trash, why get too excited yet? By the way, I agree that a larger reward is always a chance at someone coming forward, so we'll see...

Enjoy the breaks when they come, we all need to breathe now and then.

Casador.....Aruba being so close to Venezuela doesn't mean alot to Arubans other than the immigration problems with illegals trying to gain access to jobs on the island....the political climate in Venezuela really doesn't penetrate Aruba much, they will print a story or two about it, but it has little impact on Aruba.
Living in Aruba from 92-99 Arubans don't really discuss or are they overly concerned with Venezuelan situations.
And The United States needs to stay involved in that situation cause the USA actually gets more oil from Venezuela and Mexico than we do in the Middle East......interesting and true, makes you wonder why we're making such a huge fuss about the Middle East.....not to mention we're sitting on a ton of oil thru the Alaskan pipeline that we paid dearly to build back in the 70's that we refuse to use !!!! LOL World politics are crazy !
