What is the procedure for opening an account in Aruba? Any information or which bank to use would be appreciated.

I've had an account in Aruba for 14 years......all you do is walk in and present U.S. ID and open an account with a deposit.....no tricks and nothing speical is needed....although a driver's license usually is enough...they prefer a passport for ID in the banks if you are not a resident of Aruba.

Aquabooge,
I just went to the site that Orrin supplied and it said in order to open an account you need 2 reference letters from 2 banks and a salary slip or letter from an employer. Did you need this or does it depend on the bank? This info was under - Opening an account if not a resident of Aruba. This is something my husband has wanted to do and was always told he needed references which isn't a problem but didn't want to bother if it is really not needed. Thanks again for your help. Lynn |
