One Happy Island Arubaian Resort Closed???

Hi all. It has been quite a while since I have been on the boards. Hope to have a little more time for it now that the rest of my life is a little more settled. Anyways, here is my question.

I was contacted by a friend of mine that bought timeshare at the Arubian Resort & Casino last year. Their first occupancy week is this February. They have tried to contact the resort as they heard that the Arubian Resort & Casino went out of business and closed. Is this true?? Does anyone know what her options are to get her money back? Is there a new owner? Will her agreement carry over? Any help that can be provided would be awesome.

Thanks

Cool Re: Arubaian Resort Closed???

MicheleAruba.....

follow this link, it should explain alot. There was much discussion on the closing a few weeks back. I'm sure this will be a long protracted situation unfortunately.....

michele, as of this week when a friend went over there to check, the aruban was still closed with no water or electricity. rumors abound about what will happen to the place. hopefully, the owners will have a place to stay.

Currently the resort remains closed. There is no indication of when or if it will re-open, but as each day passes it looks less and less hopeful it will open in the near future.

There is an owner (John Cole) who is in Aruba working diligently on behalf of a group of owners to get the ball rolling. Last I heard, if there is any movement (good or bad) it will be in the next several days.
