It is 09:30 pm here in Oklahoma and the current temp is 15f degrees. The temp tomorrow is only going up to 24f. Wed may get to 36f.
We still have snow on the ground from Christmas Eve and had more a couple days ago and supposed to get some more Thursday. What happened to that global warming?? This is very unusual weather for us. Hardly ever get snow, and almost never before feb. Christmas Eve was the first time in history that Tulsa(eastern Ok)was issued a blizzard warning. What are the weather conditions where you live? |

It is currently 21 here with a wind chill of 5 above zero. It is snowing but no accumulation expected. This weekend however, the lows will be 0 or below with wind chills well below -5. With snow expected!!
This might be what you are looking forward to sherry!! Elaine - at least you only have three more weeks of this and then paradise for a whole month, Just enough time to warm you up. |

45 degrees at noon is COLD in Central Florida (average high in January is 68-70 degrees).
26f is predicted for overnight (also more than 20 degrees below average). It is the longest, coldest period in our 7 years in Florida. Our first year, it did go down to 25 degrees, but (unlike this week) it did not last for a week. Expect to pay more for orange juice. The citrus industry is going to take a big hit this week. Strawberries (a February harvest in Florida) are also in danger. Tomatoes are also in trouble. Last edited by JohnJT; Tuesday, January 5th, 2010 at 01:44 PM. |

Here in Massachusetts the temperature at this time is 33 degrees. We've had alot of snow this week-----probably ten inches. The forecast for the remainder of the week is for colder weather. Hopefully we will not get additional snow. The end is in sight----February 27--Paradise.

Boy would I love to see 34, 24, or even 14 degrees (above zero, that is) right now! I think we may have hit 10 today, but then we are back to 2 F tomorrow and -3 F for Friday. And it is snowing another 6-8 inches tonight. We haven't seen double-digit temps above zero for about ten days. It may actually get up to 20 on Monday next week, and I may just wear shorts (hey, that's 40 degrees warmer than it is now with the wind chill)!!!!
Seriously, I would love to figure out a way to get to Aruba with Elaine at the end of the month....... |

I have been keeping warm watching the Bucuti cam. Helps a little but makes me wish even more that I was there.
We missed the snow last night and it didnt get as cold as they predicted. Still got down to 12f though and supposed to get down to 4f tonight and 2f friday night. Wind chills will be below zero. Forcast looks pretty good for next week. Will have our normal temps in the low 40s for highs. Yipee! |

It's been getting progressively colder all week. The weekend here is going to be bitter cold and windy. The wind is the worst. Getting the house back to normal following the holidays. Will bring out the suitcase and go through the packing, unpacking, repacking. Sooooon-----the warmth and pleasant breezes of Aruba!

After more than 55 years of living in upstate New York, I DO sympathize with those who endure cruddy winter weather.
After 7 years of living in Florida, it is still MISERABLE cold. Snow just does NOT happen in this area of Central Florida, but they are saying we might expect flurries on Saturday morning. Remember the January average is close to 70 degrees. Our 7-year experience is that FL has a couple days of cold weather...then it warms up. But the cold weather persists here! We set daily records (29 degrees this AM), but we don't break long-term records. A warmer day intervenes before a record is set. I wonder if Aruba is setting any weather records? Cold does seem to penetrate the Caribbean from time to time. |

Wow, 29 degrees in Florida-----that's what it is here north of Boston. My friend in Florida wrote to tell me she has her electric blanket on high and the heat on in the house. At the post office yesterday I was behind a man who was sending winter jackets to his family in Florida.

We're freezing in Texas too. The 22 degree temp broke records. We have to go searching for our coats. I know that sounds wussie to Northerners, but when you have mild weather all the time, below freezing weather is an event.

We are about 70 miles north of NYC, and woke up to a few mores inches of new snow on the ground. We've had snow on the ground since before Christmas and with the temps going down to something like 10 degrees with wind chill, I don't think we're getting rid of it anytime soon. Morning commute was a little hairy, but at least it's Friday. My plans for the weekend do not involve anything outdoors. Maybe put a pot of soup on, and open a nice bottle of wine and think about Aruba (maybe even start thinking about what to bring. We have 56 days and a wake up, and then 3 weeks in paradise. Sometimes the cold and snow just makes the anticipation that much sweeter.
