I was wondering if anyone could tell me the approximate drink prices at the amsterdam manor? My wife and I are going next month and aren't sure if we should do the "I Drink" package they offer for $35/per person/per night for all you can drink and a continetal breakfast. My wife can't drink beer so she will have to drink frozen drinks or wine. I can/will drink anything but scotch! We do plan on getting out and about (Kukuu Kanuku, snorkle, dinner, etc) but a lot of time will be spent loungin at the beach/pool/bar.

Think this might be a good option or should we just stick with the supermarket wine/liquir/beer and the occasional drink at the bar/pool?

Anyone know what they spent a day on drinks there?

great question relax...i was just at the amsterdam manor a few weeks ago. at happy hour the drinks were in the average of 2 for $5-6. so i have to assume they average $5-6 each at all other times. the question then is do you drink more than 5-6 drinks each per day? if you say yes, then a drink package is a good idea. now you stated that it was per person per night. did you mean night or all day?

we found that it was great to do happy hour at amsterdam manor and for our small needs a bottle of whatever from the grocery (not the minimarts) was perfect plus going to other bars. another suggestion is to stop at the airport kiosk on the way into aruba and pick up some of what you like. that is the cheapest place.

The price of $35/per person is for drinks all day including soda and water and the breakfast.

It includes (from the brochure) Unlimited house brand drinks including: Liquors, Spirits, Wines, cocktails, beers, soda and juice. Continetal breakfast included with the package.

if it's all day and all beverages i might go for it. not a bad price. depends on how long you want to lie on the beach and only have to walk a few feet to the bar to get a really really great frozen drink. (and their frozen drinks really are great!)

That is kinda what we were thinking...instead of having to lug a cooler or wine glasses around we could just use the beach bar. It may be a wash pricewise but it may be more convient than going to the grocery store or worring about how much our bill will be in the end.

I say go for it, figure breakfast has to be at least $10 so you only need to have 4 or 5 drinks for the rest of the day AND NIGHT? No worries, those 5 should be gone before you leave to get ready for dinner. Don't order cocktails at dinner, come back and have a few 8 or 9 more. You win. LOL

It sounds like a good deal. Those frozen drinks can add up! Plus the breakfast...that's good! The Ren. has a package like that and I think it's 41.00/pp and I wish I knew about it when we stayed there!

Yeah I think we will probably do the drink package and not have to worry about much of anything other than some getting some snacks on the way to the hotel!

Sir, I take it that you drinkalot. But you are absolutely right. Even with just drinking soda or virgin drinks, you would still make out. A continental breakfast is not the best, but better than nothing. Probably if you drink 7 drinks daily it will make up for the $35. It is so hot there that i usually drink more of everything, soda, water, and drinks than i do at home. Plus with this you can get the fancy drinks that cost a lot. I say go for it.

The little pool side bar at Playa LInda charged $4.75 for a miniature Heineken. And the the Hyatt charged $6.00 for a draft Balashi at their outside bar. Just crazy. So, once a day I would go to the mini mart and pay $2.25 for a full size Heineken and walk to the beach with it. Cheaper that way.

But, I don't drink much - but, I can say that beer prices seems to be steep! I don't drink mixed drinks and that is what the happy hours offers.arty:
