Default This is the hardest thing I have ever written

It is with great sadness in my heart that we will be leaving the island in order to deal with my elderly parents. We have tried to stay here as long as we could, but things have gotten worse with them and I need to be by their side. We will be leaving the last week of June.

We have slashed the price of our house in Aruba in an effort to sell it quickly. Whoever buys this house will get a great deal and a house that has been filled with a lot of love and happiness.

We are in contact with different people on the island and looking for others to help continue our cat and kitten rescue efforts. We will continue to be involved with our cause when we are in the US.

In the meantime, we are asking that people continue bringing down supplies for us. We are also urgently looking for homes for our 4 calico orphans. If you can take one back the US, it would be a wonderful thing you are doing for these little ones.

Lizzardo,
I am so sorry to hear you will be leaving Aruba. I can only imagine how much Aruba means to you because I know how much it means to me and I only visit once a year. But, as you say, you need to be with your parents in their time of need. Hopefully, some day you will be able to go back to live (or at least visit). And, on the bright side--you've had a great experience with wonderful memories that few of us can lay claim to. Good luck to you and your family and thank you for all you have done for the cats and kittens.
Kathy

One Happy Island Re: This is the hardest thing I have ever written

Liz... I echo what Kathy said.

I know all about parenting your parents, and having to do what you have to do.

I've said before that there's a special place in heaven for you for all that you do to help our furry friends.

Good luck to you, Mick and your parents, and perhaps someday we'll get the chance to meet on the island we both love.

Liz,
So sorry to hear that you will be leaving Aruba. I hope that you will have success in finding someone to take over all the good work that you do. I am sorry we never had a chance to meet you in person, but I enjoyed your posts on the BB's and also the e-mails that we exchanged a few years ago.

Best of luck. Our prayers will be with you.

Liz,

This truly must be the hardest thing you've ever written. I can only imagine. But your parents have to come first and you've got to go where you're needed. Someday hopefully you'll be able to return. Please stay in touch with us. Your BB family is here for you.

Liz,

So sorry to hear you have to leave Aruba. But I'm sure you will find comfort in knowing that you can be with your parents. Hopefully you can return to Aruba in the future either to live or to visit. You have had an opportunity that many of us dream about, living on Aruba.

I wish you and your family all the best!

Thank you everyone for your kind word and support. Yes we are looking to rent out our house which will be available July 1st for a year.

Don't worry, I'll still be around. Aruba is in my blood now

Liz - I know this is a bittersweet time for you and how badly you feel about leaving your work there. But a new chapter in your life is opening, full of new possibilities (think open roads potion ). And just focus on all the kitties you were able to save, my little boy included. Every time I look at him I marvel that this little guy was left to die by some - I don't even know what to call them - certainly not a person - and you gave him a chance to be loved and pampered - and me the chance to do the loving and pampering . How many others have you done the same thing for? You have a lot of good karma coming back around to you. But Aruba will not be the same without you - for us or the kitties.

I Love Aruba Re: This is the hardest thing I have ever written

Liz - I know your heart is breaking even though we all keep telling you it will all work out. Just know that you have more love and support than you probably realize, and those of us who love and support you appreciate each and every life you have saved, as well as all of the other wonderful things you have done along way! And the kitties know too - people who say that animals don't have souls are full of crap - every one of those cats knows that YOU are the one who saved its life. You have been an inspiration to every person (both human and feline) whose life you have touched.

We are looking forward to seeing you next week!

I am easily confused so I have to ask a question. You say you are looking to rent your house starting July 1st for a year? Is that the same house in Arashi that you're trying to sell? Or is this a completely different house? Sorry if I'm so foggy on this....just talk to me like I'm a 6 year old LOL

yes, it is the same house. liz would prefer to sell but in order to be near her parents and take care of their needs she is willing to rent. having been in this home several times, i just wish i would win a big lottery because i would buy it in a heartbeat. i honestly have to say it is not only beautiful and full of 'location, location, location' but it is warm and homey fitting in anywhere in the world. this may sound like a sales pitch but instead it is truly just honesty.

I'm sorry to hear you're leaving the island as well as your parents' health. They were both such sweet people when we met them and I know how much heartache this all must cause you and Mick. The best to all of you.

If you are looking to rent call US Customs at 588-7240 or fax the info to 588-7720. They have people looking for homes to rent.
