I Love Aruba High rise Area

Hi
I am new here and I love this site.Talking vacation is my favorite thing
to do especially while at work lol..

I have been to Aruba 1 time and fell in love..We took an Island tour We did the party bus had dinner on the beach went shopping in town but..We never made it to the high rise area..We are going back in May. I was just wondering what is there? Can You walk to many places? Also when We take a cab there where should I tell him to drop us off..We stay at La Cabana..

Thanks

Hi, Luv. Bon bini to the board. The high-rise area probably packs the most entertainment options into the smallest possible area. Many of the hotels have casinos and they all have multiple restaurants, bars, etc. There are also a bunch of eating and drinking (and shopping and playing) establishments across the street from the hotels.

All of the beaches are public and the hotels allow non-guests to use most of their facilities. (A point of clarification; although the beaches are public, the little grass huts and the beach furniture are not. If you are not a guest of a particular hotel, you can frolic on the beach in front of that hotel to your heart's content but you cannot sit on a lounge chair in front of that hotel.) Strolling along the beach or the boardwalk from hotel to hotel and dining/drinking/gambling, etc. at various hotels is a big part of the high-rise experience.

Hi Luv... get off at the Holiday Inn, and from that point you'll find everything you want ~ restaurants, casinos, stores, and the new mall. You just walk from "here" to "there." Have fun!

Welcome! You will love it there. Our first year we stayed in the downtown area it was not till our second trip we made it up there. It has a really cool feel. Lots of outdoor places to eat. Some great shopping, Casinos etc. I love to get a gelato and just walk the street.

Actually there was a lawsuit the Marriot filed last year about getting rid of the vendors off it's beach. They ruled the beaches and the grass huts are public - only the furniture is not.

Just a little "aruba" factiod

June -

You can take the public bus from outside Amsterdam Manor next door to LaCabana up to the high-rise area. That way you do not have to worry about drinking and/or parking.

I recommend Salt & Pepper for a tasty inexpensive dinner and T. H. Palm is a great little store. And Amicis for ice cream!
