Beleive me - I'm not talented. Different music comes with the Photo Show. I want to put another song to the pictures but I don't know how to download it. So i'm telling you, I'm stupid.

Do you have AOL dial-up or another dial-up connection. Maybe that is the reason.

If you have DSL or cable it should work.

Maybe try to clean out your cookies (we should all do that every once in a while). Or do Disk Cleanup (we should also do that atleast every week if you use your computer alot).

I had made changes on the Photo Show so that is why the link doesn't work anymore.

When I get more pictures from BP (which I hope I get soon), then I will update the Show and post the new link.

That's awful!!! Is your bro helping with the clean up??? Soot gets everywhere...and is so hard to clean!!! I'm also thinking that is't a good thing that he woke up....or your home coming could have been a LOT worse!!!!

Wow - that's awful BP. Especially coming home from your wonderful vacation.

I don't know how a gas fireplace works; but I have a wood burning fireplace and I've forgot a few times to open the flue. I never fell asleep but in a minute the room filled up with soot. What a mess.

A hint. Leave bowls of amonia around the house to get out the smoky smell. I do this in my home office every once in awhile to get my cigarette smoke out of the room.

BP
call your insurance company

after deductible they will send out a cleaning company (service master) to clean EVERYthing.

been there...done that.

rugs-wall-drapes-furniture-EVERYTHING

cost us $300 deductible and insurnce covered the rest.

good luck

We had to call ServicePro on our way TO vacation a couple years ago, because we woke up on the day we were leaving to our basement flooding. We missed our flight but caught a later one, and $500 deductible covered our end of the disaster. By the time we returned (thank you Loren's parents!!) you couldn't even tell anything had happened (thank you ServicePro)!

BP - you'll get there, and the love will return to your happy home where it belongs. You know that.

BP - If it makes you feel any better -
One February, I came home from Aruba to a wet basement, due to melting snow, a cat with a male urinary tract blockage and - the news that my brother in law was kicked out of his house by his wife and was coming to live with me (in the wet basement where the cat was peeing).

It will all be over eventually, BP!

Ah, good! Glad I can make others feel better! (PS - the bil left 3 months later, phew! Wife took him back. The basement dried with fans and electric heaters and with a hefty vet bill, the cat survived). See BP, all is well!

I technically had a disater two years ago when we arrived home from Aruba. My husband wanted to pay all our bills before we left on our trip. He had the day of from work, so of course he couldn't wait for me to write out checks. So taking matters into his own hands he went and bought money orders for all the bills. All totalled to about $3,500.00, to include insurance premiums on 3 cars, gas and electric bill, cable bill, phone bill two car payments etc. We had a great time on our two week vacation and on my first day back to work I get a phone call from my insurance company. She told me my insurance premium needed to be paid and would be cancelled in two weeks. I told her we sent it out to her before we left on our trip. She told me she never recieved them. So I made a call to see if any of the other bills made it to thier destinations? No one got their payments! I was frantic...

I couldn't call my husband because he was on a jobsite and didn't have his phone with him. So I had to wait till he got home that evening to tell him the bad news. He had kept all the Money Order stubs and had kept a good record. So we made a call to the Money Order Company and explained what had happend.

Long story short, someone had stolen our payments out of the mailbox in front of the post office. They used a wash techinque to remove the writing and put in new names. They were deposited into a bank in Virginia. About a 6 months ago, we recieved a call from the person my husband spoke to at the post office. They captured the guy that had been doing this.

All but one car payment was cashed, we were out all that money and had to pay our bills twice. What a pain....so that is my little story of my disaster!

Wow - that is some story. This kind of thing is going on all over. Terrible. That is a lot of money to lose. Hope they put the guy away for a long time.

Stolen out of the POST OFFICE MAILBOX??? Is nothing safe any more? I never had heard of this "washing" of checks or money orders.

Thanks, Claudia -he was gone after 3 months of begging his wife to return!

We were only able to recoup the one money order that was not cashed for our daughters car payment, about $300.00. What we were told is that they used a small fishing rod and put sticky tape on the end. They drop the line down into the mail box and reel up the envelopes that stick to the tape. It is more that one person involved, because they act really fast and clean out the mail boxes. This was a curbside mail box. The post office said these thieves had been doing this all over town. Many people were affected by this and it happens all over the country!

I guess this was a lesson learned...so now if we need to mail something we walk it into the post office.

BP & Georgene, I am so very sorry you had to arrive home to this disaster. Think positive thoughts, this can all be fixed, and most importantly, no lives were lost.
It was such a treat meeting you and Georgene, Tina and I enjoyed our visit with you both. Georgene is such a sweet gal, and you, of course, are a gem. Hope next year if you are there same time as I am we can do a dinner.
