Shopping Electronics in Aruba - Where???

Hello everyone,

I'm from Brazil and I'll be in Aruba during days 19 to 31 in march! I want to buy some electronics in Aruba!

I'm staying at Hotel Holliday Inn. Have a electronics stores close to this hotel?

I wonder what places I can go to buy electronics. If anyone know of a site that has local prices would help me a lot.

If you can tell me the shops near the hotel would be grateful.

I appreciate any information.

Thank all. Best Regards

ps: Sorry for my english.

Hi Marcus - welcome to the forums :) Great to hear you will be in Aruba soon.

Your best bet would be to get a taxi and go towards Oranjestad. It is perhaps 10-15 minutes by car from where you will be staying. there you will find several stores. A well known one is Boolchands. Their website doesn't specifically list products and prices since they don't really sell online though. There's also one called Crown who do have a website with pricing. On the way to Oranjestad there is a store called Antraco who also have some electronics products.

Hope this helps!

Hi Mark!

Thank you very much for your response. It really was very helpful. I contacted the store and I believe I must remove the items in boolchands.

In Oranjestad is the best place to make the purchase? What currency is accepted in shops? Dollar?

I thank you again soon and hope to be in Aruba.

Best Regards

ps: Sorry for my english.

Hi Marcus,

No problem - glad to be of help. Yes, US dollars would be fine. Accepted practically everywhere on Aruba :)

P.S. Lets not even talk about my Portuguese ;) Although Papiamento, which I do speak, and is spoken widely in Aruba, does have some similarities with it. But still my Portuguese would be far worse than your English, which is pretty good by the way!
