Smile snorkel

I am back with yet another question as the countdown begins to my honeymoon at the Amsterdam on Sept. 21st!! Looking to book a nice little snorkel trip nothing fancy, just fun and maybe some booze (why not did get married). Anyone have any thoughts on who to book it with? So many choices.
Thanks
Mike

Default Re: snorkel

the ones i personally consider the best are the tranquilo and the octopus.

Aruba - Attractions - Sun & Fun - Operators - Sailing & Cruises

OCTOPUS Sailing Cruises Aruba, Sailing & Snorkling Tour

Yes, the Tranquilo & cap't Anthony are ones for us, it is about 6hr total 2 hr sail, private snorkel spot, and a very relaxing 2 sail back. Also includes sandwich, drinks & Mom's homemade Dutch split pea soup.

We were honeymooners years ago in Aruba...older then in 1988 than average honeymooners.
When we were able, we did enjoy snorkel trips with Tranquillo, Red Sail and Windie's Watersports. I believe Windie still does 'snorkel from shore trips'...do not own their own catamaran.
We thoroughly enjoyed a sunset cruise with Octopus. We did not snorkel with them, but I think their sunset cruise was a great, enjoyable trip.

Tranquillo is definitely the best (I've done it twice after seeing a recommendation on this BB). Definitely better than the booze/snorkle boats leaving from Palm Beach. However, Tranquillo wasn't around when I was on Aruba in May 2009. Someone thought he had gone somewhere for Catamaran races. Reserve by email (link from visitaruba.com). If you don't get a reply in a few days, call the number when you arrive on the island. He only takes cash (no credit cards). It was $60 two years ago. You meet him at the boat (near the Riu) and pay him there. Has anyone done the trip this year?

Our sixth trip since 04, the only skorkel I have done was limited to a few minutes at Baby Beach and Arashi. From all the recomendations I just sent Tranqillo a request to take the 6hr tour on Tue, Oct 13.

Talking Re: snorkel

Chip you will have a blast with Cap't. Anthony & crew. They will take you to Spanish Lagoon that was claimed ( I think) by Anthony's dad Mike. They are the only ones to go there. Open Bar and the best soup. Grab the bow area for a nice breeze, drinks will come up thru the latch, also not more than 20 people!

I Love Aruba Re: snorkel

Tranquillo is a great time. Good food, lots of drink, fun, and snorkel. The drift snorkel is my favorite. Not crowded about 16 to 20 people total.
A full 6 hour day and for about $60 per person.

We also have had fun on the Jolly Pirate. Ithe 3 to 6 pm and it was about $30 per person. 3 places to stop, 2 to snorkel and one for the rope swing. This is a favorite with our 2 teenagers.

Some of the big ones are crowded and just not for us.

Have a great time and take a camera.

Jill
