Question What is the best arubian restaurant?

Hello,

I am traveling on vacation to Aruba in July!

What would be the best place to eat? I am going with my family and I want it to be perfect.

I already searched for restaurant reviews and reservations, just couldn't find anything. If you guys could help us out that would be great.

Thanks,
Larry

Hi, Larry. Bon bini to the board and may I be the first to commend you on an excellent vacation destination choice.

As for your question, let me throw a couple back at you. What do you like? How old are your kids? Madame Janette frequently wins the "best restaurant" polls amongst visitors but there are so many restaurants and such a wide variety of dining choices, it is entirely possible that someplace else would be more your cup of tea.

If you can narrow down your likes and dislikes, maybe I can be more helpful.

p.s. I moved your thread to the general Q&A section. It will get seen by more people here and we kind of like to dedicate the restaurant review section to specific polls and reviews.

I am going to give my vote to either Yemanja or Que Pasa? With a slight edge to Que Pasa? due to value. And I know they are owned by the same person, which is probably why i liked them both so much

I'd add Wacky Wahoo's to the list if you like fresh fish. If you're downtown, I'd give the Old Fisherman a try. For reasonably priced on-the-beach dining, there's Passions (for romantic) & Matthews. Two of our favorites are Chalet Suisse & Madame Janettes. We go to our favorites every year, but like to add some new places every visit. This June (13th to 27th), new places we'll be trying are Gianni's, Daniel's, Chino Latino, Pam Pam, Ellioti's. We like to plan ahead, but wind up changing things when we get there. We'll have another 2 weeks in Sept, so what we don't get to in June - we'll try do to in Sept.

Larry... the Bucaneer's another very friendly kid place, and even I get hypnotized watching the fish in the tanks..

Oh, I especially love, love, love the barracuda they have on the menu.

Your kids will love it. We ate there on May 29 and May 31. We ate on the Chinese side on the 29th and did the Tepanyaki(sp) on the 31. We did not try the Sushi bar but it was busy both nights.
They have an early bird special 6 pm to 6:30 pm for the Tepanyaki. We paid $17.50 each for sirloin and chicken breast at the earlybird rate. It comes with salad, soup, fried rice, stir fried veggies and desert. You can also get lobster, filet and other choices, but it is higher priced. The show is worth the price we paid and all the kids that were there seemed to be having a good time. The chinese side is excellent for ambience, taste, service and value.
