Default LaCabana and "points" from Bluegreen

LaCabana and Bluegreen have instituted a "point plan". We have enrolled and deposited our 3 timeshare units into the point system. Only BRC, not Villas.

Bottom line, we are now not locked into week 19 and 33 and our studio units.
The units are now worth 22,000 points to be used at any time. We can reserve as far as 13 months out and as close as 48 hrs out.

So, if we wanted to use our points...a studio unit would be worth (and i am using the HIGH season week 52, and 5-8 all other times are less points)
9,000 for a week.

A one bedroom would be 13,000 for a week HIGH season.
And a 2 bedroom would be 18,000 for High season.

Lower seasons such as weeks 1-4, 17 - 23 and 46-47 would be:
Studio 6000 points
One bedroom 9,000 points
2 bedroom 12,000 points

Done for perpetuity and in the event that Bluegreen dies, all units and weeks revert back to the old original way.

And yes, one is allowed to reseerve for less than 7 days or more than 7 days and do not have to stick with the Sat - Sat, or Sun - Sun, or Fri - Fri schedule.

Anyone else look into the point system yet?

andrea, if they keep to their promises and don't do what some of the timeshares do and tell you they are occupied because banked units only pay them if they rent them out, then it is a great system. only time will tell.

Andrea-

Do you know if I have a one bedroom unit and don't use it one year, do the points add up? Could I then get a two bedroom unit the following year? What if the high season is all booked? Any help would be appreciated!
