Thumbs up Re: Astoria

I voted "Excellent."

I stayed at the Astoria my last two trips there (April and May) and ate there probably 20 times.

Rack of New Zealand lamb...lordy. I also ate plenty of their Crab Salad sandwiches and Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches, enjoyed the Sunday brunch (all you can eat, prepared to order, free champagne) sampling the:
  • Smoked Salmon Salad
  • Carpaccio
  • Garlic Shrimp
  • Breaded Escargot
and other stuff which I cannot remember off the top of my head.

The food was easily the best in San Nicolas, the dining room was tastefully decorated and AIR CONDITIONED, the bar is possibly the best stocked on the entire island. No kidding.

Heck, I took a bunch of pictures; I'll post them next. Like the people, like the hotel, like the restaurant. Can you tell?

Was looking for Millennium's but couldn't find so we, settled at Astoria. Very nice atmosphere, however food was average (we had steak for lunch) but good. Lots of Valero employees were there as it was good to see them support the locals.
