It can be hard to find at 1st. but this little place has the Aruban feel running all the way thru it. We had great service and food.

We walked up at 6:45 pm with no reservations and were pleased that they found a table for us. It was in the back, however, if you aren't in the very front, you can't see the beach/ocean anyway. The setting is very beautiful. Chris started with a nice glass of wine and we were served bread (pumpkin) and olive oil - very yummy.
We asked about the side salads and were told that they came with Balsamic Vinaigrette- Chris' favorite. Well, the dressing was nowhere near a balsamic vinaigrette but rather was very sweet and there were nuts all over it - only greens were mentioned on the menu. When the waitress came by, Chris informed her that he couldn't eat the salad because of a nut allergy and her only suggestion was that I eat his salad. Sorry, I'm already unhappy with the taste of mine. His salad charge was NOT removed from the bill. I ordered the Menage a Trois (lobster, grouper & shrimp) in a tarragon sauce w/ potato pancake. It came with mashed potatoes instead of the pancake, the sauce had no flavor and the lobster was overcooked and chewy. Chris ordered the Spicy Garlic Shrimp w/ risotto. His shrimp were cooked perfectly, but the shrimp were neither spicy nor very garlicky - but rather bland. Our sauces tasted almost identical. The bill was $70 with no service included. We thought that this was pretty high for the worse meal we had during our trip. We did leave a good tip, as the service was excellent (even though the restaurant wouldn't remove the $5 tiny bowl of salad from the bill). We were very disappointed in the restaurant and will not return. ![]() ![]() |

I found the food to be very enjoyable...though not the best on the island. Atmosphere and scenery were well worth the higher price tag. Excellent cuts of fish. The food was served with great starch and veg. Bar service was excellent and the location's view is only matched by Flying Fishbones and/or Capt. Jethro's sunset sail!!

It's Marandi, I believe.
Went last year and thought it was by far the best meal we have had on Aruba. Have reservations this year and can not wait! |

We love Marandi - both the ambiance and food are wonderful! It's our favorite restaurant on the island! We may try the "chef's table" this year in the kitchen.

We have been to Marandi several times, and have enjoyed each visit. The setting is beautiful, and both the food and service are excellent. It's on our "must" list for every visit to Aruba.

We went to Marandi for the first time this year - other than having a hard time to find the restaurant, our experience was wonderful. We were in Aruba for two weeks this year, and this was my favorite. The food and the location were just perfect. And the owners could not have been nicer. This will be a "for sure" spot next year when we return. Just wish it was closer to home so we could go more often!

We had read mixed reviews on this one but recent reviews were favorable. Went there last Wednesday and it was wonderful. Hidden behind an old beach club, the place was casulally elegant. The meni was large and diverse. My wife't tuna appetizer was delicious and too large for her, I ahd to help. My goat cheese salad was phenominal. Both of our main courses were delicious and well presented. We had heard issues with service, however service was quick and attentive. This replaces at least on of my normal favorites. A definite revisit even if they have to relocate as rumored.
This is a definite. Jim and Mary |

I'm unfortunately one of the people who didn't like Mirandi's at all. IMO food was extremely bland and the service was less than spectacular. It takes a lot for me to not like something.. I'll eat anything but never there again, there's too many options.

This place is definitely on our list this year. Wanted to make it the last time but never did. When making a reservation, what area should I request? I definitely want a view of the ocean.
Thanks Beth |

Upon reccommendations of this BB and others we tried Marandi for our ONE alone dinner. I made reservations before leaving and Tom set us right up with table #9. My husband, I wouldn't really say he was picky, but just hard to impress I guess. With no sign the restaurant was a little tricky to find, but over a few curbs and we were there (thank good ness we didn't get a car!) Dh was a little put off with the aggravation of finding it, but that soon disappeared with our wonderful table, fantastic sunset, and good service......and the MEAL....WOW!!! I had steak and he had the catch of the day (grouper), and we had the most amazing dessert, Kletskoppen,....my mouth is watering just thinking of it!! This was the only time I have EVER heard my husband say, immediately after finishing his meal, "WE WILL EAT HERE AGAIN!" and that says a lot.
Only complaint: our waiter disappeared and never came back to our table...thankfully the other staff more than made up for it with good, quality service!

Marandi had not moved yet. Right now their expected move date is sometime mid-summer. Their new location has also changed - they will be moving to Laguna Pier which is just past the airport (in the opposite direction of downtown.)

Thanks Amy for the info. Maybe when I get down there in August they would have moved already. Have fun in Aruba in a few days!

On Oct. 1st Marandi's moved to Laguna Pier. If your driving and not familiar with the area, it is hard to find. There is no sign that I saw on the main road. Eventually there are signs, but they are small and hard to see if it is dark.
I dined here Monday night. I like this location much better. It's right at the water. Since most of the dining area is not covered, I don't know what they are going to do if it does rain. Ate dinner there on Mon., March 31st. Food was very good, but I felt gyped by our server. She spent so much time sucking up to the guy buying the 30 year old bottle of wine, that she didn't have much time for the other tables in her section. Guess she figured she was going to get a bigger tip from him. She was probably right!

Went to Mirandi's new location and it's really, really nice. Finding it is a little tricky at first, but as long as you follow the blue Aviation signs right after the airport, you'll find it.
Food and service is very good and we had a table for 6 on the deck right overlooking the water. I had the seared tuna as an appetizer which was excellent and their special fish of the night which was baked grouper with a delicious creamy sauce over it. Perfect. It's worth going for both the food and the ambience. Marie |
