Que Pasa has a fun, funky vibe. Our waitress was Dutch and didn’t speak English very well, but we were able to get most of our questions about the menu answered. We were served bread with fantastic garlic butter and an olive spread. Chris started with a salad. I order the surf & turf. You need to ask about this item as it is constantly changing. Tonight it was filet mignon & grilled shrimp, each with their own sauce. The plated food was gorgeous – we should have taken a photo. It looked like a ying/yang circle with one side a deep red wine sauce with the meat and the other a white creamy, garlic sauce with the shrimp. Both sides were excellent, but next time I will probably stick to the tenderloin as the meat and sauce were phenomenal. It came with a baked potato and some friends had tipped us off to ask for the garlic butter in the potato – wow! It was too much to eat, so I finished off the shrimp (as I knew they wouldn’t reheat well) and took the tenderloin home (they gave me a side of the sauce).

Chris had the tenderloin tips with mushrooms and onions in red wine sauce served over rice. The sauce was the same as mine, and he was in heaven. He also had a little leftover. For dessert I had to try the banana fritters as I had heard they were heavenly. And, oh boy, they sure were! With a brown lady and 2 of their iguana drinks the total was a mere $60.

I love this restaurant. I usually go a few times during my week on the island. The food is fantastic & very reasonably priced. The daily specials never cease to be amazing, from delicious soups to fantastic desserts.

We love Que Pasa, and have been eating there for many years. The prices are reasonable, the food is great, and the service is good. We usually order the fish or shrimp specials of the day, and have never been disappointed. I don't order Caribbean lobster tail as it just can't compare to a Maine lobster, but I make an exception at Que Pasa. When they have lobster as a special of the day I'll order it, as it's always excellent -- tender, juicy, and flavorful. However, my favorite item on the Que Pasa menu is their fresh tomato soup. I have to have my "fix" twice a year or I get cranky.

Up the block from Rumba's Restaurant, which is located behind the Renaissance Mall.

Was going there in April. But when I saw the prices on the outside menu, I thought it was too expensive. So we went to Rumba's.

Know I know the outside menu was in Aruban $$.

http://www.quepasaaruba.com/html/

My vote is to go to Que Pasa in December.

We've been eating at Que Pasa for years, too! Love the place!! We often go there 2x within one trip....but now with a few new restaurants to try this year we might only get there once.I have 15 nights in Aruba on this trip and it's still not enough for all of the restaurants I want to go to!

i personally love the place and was sorry i ran out of nights in aruba this trip before i got the chance to eat there again. three visits there so far and each was wonderful.

The bulletin board is a good idea, except that I don't like the advertising of adult entertainment on it.

If you are going to spend time in Orangestadt, stop by and see Peter at the bar. This is another small gem. Great food, cute place and a favorite of thise who chance to visit. We enjoy snacking at the bar and meeting the locals and visitors who are made to feel at home. Peter, Marvin and the staff are genuine and fun to be with.

I Love Aruba Re: Que Pasa

Liz, I was so disappointed that I never made it to Que Pasa... Seems there wasn't enough nights for everything I had to do. I was gonna walk in and say, "hey Peter... it's Elaine, the Yap from visitaruba... you know, the one who likes backseats."

Next year, the Lord willing, it's going to be tops on my list, and I'll have 4 weeks to do it instead of 3!!

Funny you should say that, Peter ~ I almost arranged a bowling night, but we couldn't all get together!! Every year we say we're going to do it, and in 13 years still haven't!!

As to the bar ~ now that's another story although not the Divi since I don't stay there! I gave many places equal time!! It's amazing how much alcohol one can consume while on Aruba!! arty:

Next year... get ready for me to walk in, announce myself, and plant a big kiss on your cheek!! Calm down ladies, just a friendly kiss!!

Question Re: Que Pasa

Que Pasa is on our list for next trip.

Danged if I can find the opening times/days on the website. I know it's open at 5PM but is it closed any day of the week?

(Although we're going Christmas week and so all bets are off as to closings anyway)

thank you peter for your menu. since que pasa is a personal favorite i can say i will definitely be there in august to finally meet you. i have probably seen you several times but never introduced myself.

i am thrilled that you will have more space at the new location. can't wait to see what you do with the place to give it that personal touch.
