Same here.

We nearly always get lost driving in town but we did find Rumba so we'll surely find you. We were lucky and got a parking place on the street near the church. When we returned a very "high" guy explained that he had been keeping an eye on our car. (His attempt at communicating this involved quite a bit of stumbling around, pointing at his eye and then our car) For that surveillance I gave him a dollar. Perhaps we can hire him again this time.

There is a big and bright parkinglot right in the back of Que pasa. Behind the goverment buildings. We still have cheap surveillance aswell!!

Peter ~ I'm a woman of my word, and obviously, you're a man who doesn't forget what is said, which in itself is quite unusual! In that vein, from now until February, when I arrive on Aruba, I must watch what I promise!!! Having been an old Yap Yum madam, there are just some habits one can't break!! Know what I mean???

Peter ~ operative words, "selective memory."
Men = selective memory!

Naive, huh??? Why or why do I so doubt that???

February IS definitely long enough away for me to possibly, uh ~ probably, put my foot in my mouth many more times!! mg_smile

We're usually too full after the tomato soup and our dinners to have dessert, but if we give in, we seem to gravitate to their banana fritters. If you like bananas you'll love it!

I Love Aruba Re: Que Pasa

Sorry guys, just returned last nite from Aruba.
Very Very disappointed in Que Pasa.... We had fried brie, overdone
shrimp burnt to a crisp 5 little ones with loads of "salad" and also ordered the special Mahi Mahi.. came out looked like it wasn't even cooked with a sprinkle of zucchini on top... We didn't eat.... Just drank and left after paying $60.00 US dollars.

Now if you want a GOOD dinner go to DESTINY near the MILL excellent.

don't apologize misty. we need to know these things. i hope it was just an off night, but at least que pasa is one of the places that tends to read our board. if it is more than just an off night, the owners are now given the chance to realize that something has changed and they have the opportunity to return it to its previous quality.

Hello all.
Misty I'm sorry to hear your diner at Que pasa was not to your likings.
If just started a new job and do not spend a lot of time on the internet.
i have informed them about your experience.
I have worked there for about 5 years and if something was not prepared to somebody's liking we always tried to fix that. and this is still their policy!!!
Did you mentioned your disliking to the waitstaff, so they could serve you a new or other dish?
Hope you will give it another try sometimes.
Enjoy life and good food
Peter

GOOD LUCK on your new job Peter. I'm sorry that you will not be there on my next trip. Me & Charlie will be going again to La Cabana on Oct. 27th for 11 days.

I ate here for the first time last week. The special was pork in a mustard sauce. It was very tastey but it was alittle on the tough side. I almost had to ask for a sharper knife. I probably should of said something but I don't like to complain. Maybe I shouldn't have posted this if I don't like to complain. We will go back in Feb. and try something else. I always here good about this place. The guy that runs the helecopter said thats where you get the best steak on the Island.

The re-opening at the new building was last Saturday, and they did a great job. It is done in the "Que Pasa" style with all their paintings and other decoration. Downstairs a beautifull bar with a nice and kozey set up for the restaurant. Upstairs you can eat outdoors on a nice and breezy terrace. They also have an artstore on the first floor with localy made "art". Some very nice creations!!!
I had a nice first time and will be hanging out there some more.

Wow, that was fast. I saw them working on it when I was there in Mar/Apr. It was still a shell of a building then with the old sign still up. Excellent!

Sadly Peter no longer works for Que Pasa as he was a great asset to the restaurant. Peter does sometime works Tues or Wed's at Bingo's Cafe and Restaurant.

By far one of the best restaurants on the island, for both great food and service. I know they are moving if not already moved. I will follow wherever they go. It sounds to me as if they are moving to the old Boonoonoonoo's building across from Cuba's cooking which is another great restaurant.

We ate there last night. The new location is nice and the staff was very friendly as usual. We had a starter of a fried brie salad with grapes and walnuts, I had the salmon sashimi.

We had good main courses; I had a rack of lamb, my wife had chicken snitchzel with a mushroom sauce and our friend had Chicken parmesean. All were good but the service really slowed between the first and second courses. But overall it was a good experience and well worth the cost.
