Default rci points

I am thinking of obtaining a Florida resort for RCI points in the hope of trading in Aruba. When you own RCI points at another resort, can you trade them in another RCI points property easily?

While I don't know about RCI since we use II, I don't think there are a lot of RCI resorts in Aruba. I think most of the Aruban resorts are in II. Personally, we don't like points because in a nutshell, there is nothing to prevent the company from changing the number of points you need to get a week. So, for example, if you buy 1,000 points to get a week, next year, they may require 1,025 points for a week. If they do, what do you do? Take a shorter vacation and possibly end up with left over points which you may not be able to use or buy more points, which now cost you more money each year. For what it's worth, do some more research and think about things.

We are selling our Marriott timeshares since we bought a condo in Aruba. If you are interested in buying a Marriott week for trading or renting our condo, contact us.

Either RCI or II afford a good selection of resorts.
However, exchange into Aruba is typically a challenge as Aruba is a highly desired destination.

While you could buy to timeshare ( resale, fixed week, RCI Points, resort company "Points" program) many find that is more cost effective to simply rent for someone who already has a timeshare contract and wants to rent their "time" to someone.

The Aruba resorts affiliated with RCI:

Aruba Beach Club, Barcelo Aruba, Divi Phoenix (Beach Villas (the phase 2 buildings) & Beach Resort (the phase 1 buildings), Bluegreen at La Cabana, Casa del Mar Beach Resort, Costa Linda Beach Resort, Divi Dutch Village, Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort (Divi Village & the Golf Villas), and Playa Linda.

The Aruba resorts affiliated with II:

Aruba Beach Club, Blue Residences, Caribbean Palm Village, Casa del Mar , Costa Linda, Divi Phoenix (phase 1 & 2), Divi Dutch, Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort, Gold Coast Aruba, La Cabana, La Quinta, Marriotts, The Mill, PalmAruba Condos, Paradise Beach Villas, Playa Linda, Renaissances, Royal Palm Club @ RIU, and Tropicana.
