Re: New swimming pool

I am curious about this... I was not aware that there were plans for a new pool at the Surf Club? I was there in Feb and there was no talk of a new pool at that time. If anyone knows about this please do tell, I will be there again this coming Feb for two weeks !!

I found this pic I hope it's from August. That way it will be finished when I'm there next month.

Yes it is, it's in line with the (hidden) hot tub. Looks like there's a lot of good spots,in the pool, to sit and sip. :wink_smil

I'll post and update when I'm there.

See post #3. The pool in the picture isn't 100% complete, but you get the general idea...

We've been here since the 5th, back next Monday night. The pool is open and it's great.

Send me an IM and I e-mail pics when I get back.

Here is the picture of the new pool. Taken from the last balcony, top floor in the oceanside building(4601).
They did an excellent job of placement and landscaping.

I wasn't sure if a copy/paste would work. I sent you an IM with my e-mail address, reply and I'll attach the pic

Re: New swimming pool

Would like a current picture? How can you send me one? Did it relieve any of the crowding on the beach or the other pools?

Re: New swimming pool

chip, why not post the pic to our albums section. if you have a problem doing it when you try, let me know and i will pm my email address so you can email it to me. then i will post it in albums for you. cut and paste rarely works on any forum for pics.

It will probably help, it's hard to tell in Oct since it is the low season, but thats why we go --- I can talk to me, when the coast is clear :wink_smil

I'm going to send Sherry some pics, hopefully she can post them

Re: New swimming pool

I was there this past May. The new pool is between the pool/bar pool and the beach. This is adults only (21+). Not topless! This means no kids and peace and quiet for those who would rather not hear whining, screaming and crying all day long. It was sometimes hard to find a chair, this pool is now so popular! Trees/shrubs provide a boundary around the pool area. There is a jacuzzi (spa) next to this pool. At other Marriott timeshare properties, this is called a "serenity" pool with signs posted requesting quiet and adults only. I've forgotten the exact language, but there is a sign at the entrance to this pool with brief rules for use.

Re: New swimming pool

we enjoyed the new pool immensely. when you can't go around the lazy river anymore, because happy hour has caught up with you, and you can't hang at the pool bar, cause the 2 for 1 is killing you, (especially the drinks with the chocolate in them), then a powernap at the quitet pool is very nice. we didn't have any trouble getting a place to sit, although i can see where that could happen. you're better off to trudge off to order food rather than wait for a server there. sometimes they are all over, and sometimes you could wait forever. they raised the sides and put bushes around for a small amount of extra privacy. very nice.
