I Love Aruba New Restaurant Open?

When We Visited In October, The New Restaurant Over Mulligans Was Still Under Construction. Anyone Know If It Is Open Yet?

It opened on April 14th. Finally! If anyone eats there, please give us a report on the menu, type of cuisine, decor, etc. Thanks!

I was told that Windows on Aruba opened last Friday - the 13th. For now it is closed on Mondays. In a few weeks when they get enough workers, it will be open 7 days a week. I had alittle private tour last night. It is very nice.

I Love Aruba Re: New Restaurant Open?

Thanks, Liz. Let us know more. I have watched them build the clubhouse, Mulligan's, and now Windows on Aruba over the course of several visits to Divi Golf Links. Anxious to eat there when we go on May 5th. The view can't be beat. Just anxious to know about the menu.

I was with the manager of Windows of Aruba last night. He said his boss is tweeking the menu. When it is done, he said he will give the menu to me. I just e-mailed him tonight to remind him. When I get it - I will post it.

We ate at Windows on Aruba at Divi Links Clubhouse last week and I have to say that it is one exquisite restaurant! Very expensive. We shared a salad, we each had an entree and a dessert and I had one glass of wine ($12) and my husband had coffee. Bill was $123, with tip $150. Met another couple who also had a bill around the same cost.

The decor is quite gorgeous. There are several what look to me like Dale Chulally glass sculptures. Billowing curtains. The menus and the final bills have bronze covers. Chairs also have bronze in them. One cool touch was a spotlight on the bud vase on each table. VERY subdued lighting (very flattering to us ladies). Unbelievable display of the wines.

EXCELLENT service with a very attentive waitstaff. Fabulous music. There was jazz piano the night we went. Some nights they have a classical guitarist. One night is steel pan music.

The presentation of the food is spectacular, especially the desserts. It's worth going there just to check out the incredible desserts. They are works of art!

Portions are not huge. People were dressed up but nothing too fancy for the islands. Think how you would dress in a very fine restaurant in whatever town you live in. You wouldn't wear shorts or sandals. I had white pants and a nice top. My husband had on Dockers and an island type shirt.

Mulligans downstairs is much more casual and less expensive. Same view, but totally different ambience.

I'd go again to celebrate an anniversary or special birthday or occasion. We really enjoyed it.
