Just curious...Where do you eat your first meal once you get to Aruba? When we stay at the Marriott, we usually have our first dinner at Champions Sports Bar. Last year (and this year) we stayed (will stay) at MVC Eagle Beach. Our first dinner was at Tulip...great place!

After I unpack, and put all the groceries away.. run across to Subway, get a salad with lots of tuna... come back, shower, and sit and enjoy my salad, and glass of wine while sitting on the balcony. I always hard boil a dozen eggs, too! lol
Last night... no particular routine. |

It's usually such a long day that we don't leave the premises...so we go to Champions. Last night...never know what that will be....but we have been known to just eat leftovers and finish packing and just relax. This year don't know.....we have a later flight out so we might be able to do something more. I think last year we stayed up and gambled for a bit too!!!

So many years ago! 1987 our first trip we stayed at the "Bucutti Wing" at the Manchebo. (Now of course its just the Bucutti). I remember checking in at the Manchebo & they showed us our room, right on the corner on the beach, gorgeous!!!
I really don't remember our first meal but my best guess is that we just grabbed a bite at the Pega Pega Beach Bar (we went there alot!!!) Oh did we have fun that trip ![]() ![]() ![]() |

We are a little different. Our flight doesnt arrive until after 9 or 10 at night. By the time we get to our resort we have been up for about 18 hours. Most places are closed and we are very tired.
It doesnt matter where we stay, its always breakfast at Matthews for our first meal. Well, it has been The Sea Gull and the Gondola, but its the same place at ABC. Seems like it had one other name as well. We go there and eat, then head to the grocery store. |

For many years, our first dinner was @ Talk of the Town & we generally ended our trip there as well. When they closed, we started going to Cafe Baci but that changed a few years ago when our meals weren't as good & the prices went crazy.
Now it's Pizza Bobs................ |

Have a timeshare at the RIU. Almost always walk over to Salt & Pepper the first night. Easy, casual, relaxing, great food!

We always walked over to the "Blue Marlin", food was great and very reasonable and we knew the staff by first names and it was also relaxing. Now that it is closed we walk down to "Tulip" and enjoy a wonderful, filling and not too expensive meal.

Believe it or not, on our first night it was our ritual to go to El Patio. Remember that place? It used to be at the Sun Plaza, then moved across from Certified. Easy, breezy, and had the best ribs anywhere for $8. And they only closed for 1/2 hour a day. Then it changed to La Veranda and stunk. And then it closed for good. Now we usually just get a pizza at Mulligan's depending on how tired we are. Our last night varies, but always always ends with cocktails at Madame Jeanette's - always.

I heard they got a new "manager" and personnel - that's when they changed from El Patio to La Veranda (like that big change in the name?). It was never the same. The locals stopped eating there as well. And this was a locals favorite - when they lost that business, they just disappeared. Hello Delifrance....

On our first day on Aruba, we head over to check out the beach at ABC, then to Manchebo for their brown ladies, and then to Salt & Pepper for their tapas and sangaria wine! The last day varies, but last year we went to Pinchos and ate at the bar. Just enough to eat without leftovers.

We check in to the Surf Club at 4, and head to Bugaloe for a cold one or two! Then it's wander around and stop somewhere along the Palm Beach Strip for a snack, and off to the Casino for a few hours of fun. Then off to bed and get ready for the 1st full day. That will be in 14 days.....can't wait.

You all have so much energy! By the time I unpack clothes, go grocery shopping, and put all the food away, I'm totally a goner! All's I want to do is get comfy, and go sit out on the balcony where destressing begins.
