Take a look at this clip of the Allure of the Sea passing The Big Belt bridge that is a bridge between Sweden and Denmark. It's rather amazing that such a big ship can pass under that bridge.

Our local news in Florida said the clearance was about 20-inches (about 0.5 meters).
Wow! We're sailing on the sister ship, the Oasis, on December 4th. |

Tina,
Our cruise goes to Nassau, St. Thomas and Sint Maarten. My wife loves to shop in St. Martin for tablecloths and linens. I get to purchase a bottle or two of premium liquor at lower prices than Aruba. Everyone's happy. And cruising means that someone else waits on you for 7 days, 7 nights. I think this is our 14th cruise...6 or 7 on Royal Caribbean. |

I wish we could go on a cruis. Sadly my husband gets so seasick that it's not possible for us. He can't even use the floats that we can borrow at our hotel in Aruba without getting seasick ![]() Quote:

Tina,
Did he ever try a product like Bonine? It's non-prescription, non-drowsy formula. (Maybe I'm wrong to presume that it is sold internationally) My wife was afraid of cruising until we started in 2003 (after moving to Florida). I realize the relative ease of cruising from Florida...we live about 1 hour north of Port Canaveral, a few more hours to Fort Lauderdale and Miami. We frequently go with local groups who provide transport to the ports...not requiring a flight. Enjoy your next visit to Aruba. September was very rainy for us...worst in 20 years. Hope things improve. |

Tina,
I wander from the topic. I visited Stockholm way back in 1971...so you know I am much older. We have read and enjoyed the Larsson books in English (of course). Just curiousity, but I was wondering about pronouncing things like place names and street names in English. I am recently involved with a volunteer effort in Florida that produces digital recordings for the blind. It would be a supreme challenge to read and record "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" for an English audience. It may not happen in the near future, but I'm still wondering about Swedish-English pronunciation. Any websites? We have read the 3 books in English and seen the first movie with English subtitles. Enjoyed all. Hope to see the second Swedish movie this weekend! |
