A Friends MIO MiFi Hotspot Hacked Last Year.

A friend of mine staying LCB had her MIO MiFi Hotspot hacked last year (2016). Granted, she kept it on 24/7 while she was there (against my specific warning not to).

The security flaws of the entire island's WiFi infrastructure protocols is well known, making it a paradise for hackers with even entry level skills. If you're going to use a MiFi Hotspot, be smart, turn it off when not in use. The good news is she recognized having been hacked and took appropriate actions before the hackers got to her bank accounts. Her credit cards were compromised, but the credit card companies ate the charges.

We have no reason to believe MIO is any more or less vulnerable than any other MiFi Hotspot company. The possibility of it being an inside job has occurred to me. BE SMART & BE CAREFUL.
