Default Beach wheelchairs

Dutch amigoe will show up perhaps on the english version - but not posted yet - so here's a very bad translation:

With a wheelchair into the sea
...Persons confined to a wheelchair, can now relatively easily from the beach and even the sea. The beach was a presentation of a new product in Aruba, the so-called amphibious wheelchair. "Unique in the region," said Elizabeth promoters and Jose Puente.

for me this is such an exciting thing. my closest friend just went into a wheelchair the other day. she has a bucket list and one thing on the list is to see the ocean again. with this, maybe i can get her to see it and feel it.

I'm not wheelchair-bound.
Alas, I have bad knees, bad back etc.
I regret to say that I probably have not been in the ocean in Aruba in 2 years.
The slope, the shifting sand, the drop-off has made it difficult.
I LOVED going in the ocean, but it is difficult.
I thought I needed a "rope tow" at times.
I still enjoy Aruba, but the beach is now someplace to sit and the pools are where I go in the water...with the aid of railings.
It is good that people are thinking of things that will help those with accessibility problems!

This is soooooo cool. I can't wait to share this news. I know a few people who have avoided the ocean because of physical limitations. Thanks Liz for the info.
