Default Safe return trip...

to Elaine and Mary. Since we really haven't heard from either of you during your entire stay, I hope you both had a great time and, when you have a chance, please let us know how much fun you had (if you can remember!!) and if there were any major changes to Main Street. Have a safe trip home and Welcome Back!

I Love Aruba Re: Safe return trip...

Thanks donnie and islandro.

The month flew by. I'm leaving Friday, and Mary Saturday.

Since I have some physical issues going on that I need to attend to when I get home, I've had a very laid back vacation, and never even made it into O'stad.

I have mixed emotions about leaving... but, so grateful that I get to stay here a month.

I hope you get better soon Elaine. And happy to hear you had a wonderful time. One of these days I will be able to stay a month! Right now I have to settle for two weeks.

I too am also looking forward about the news in O'stad. We will be there in June after two years away. I was wondering where exactly the trolly runs. Where does it start and end?

Welcome home Elaine.....wish you felt better. I'm so sorry that you weren't able to enjoy your vacation entirely because of the pain. Hopefully you will find out what is causing it and get it taken care of pronto. Please let us know what the doc says.
I am in a countdown now...but way way way to far out to think about it yet!!! LOL.

Feel better my friend,
ruba

I Love Aruba Re: Safe return trip...

Thanks everyone for your kind words, concern and PMs.

The pain started about three months ago in my back, and neck, and I kept hoping it would go away. My medical doctor thought it was either stress or a pulled muscle, but wasn't pro-active in sending me to an orthopedic doctor. I, too, have to take responsibility in not been pro-active, and just doing it myself. By the time the pain became unbearable, it was time to leave for Aruba, and I thought the warm weather and salt water would "cure" me. Wrong!!

Bottom line.... after seeing an orthopedic surgeon yesterday, and having x-rays taken, I have a bulging disc that's compressing some nerves. To get a better look at what nerves are involved, I'm having an MRI on Thursday.

Worse case scenario... surgery to remove the disc.

Best case scenario, depending on what's seen in the MRI... an epidural injection or a series to see if I get no relief, temporary relief or prolonged relief. Obviously, I'm counting on door number 3!

We hope so too Elaine. Bulging discs are nothing to fool with and I hope the MRI turns out fine. As always, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry darlin....that's tough. Thanks for letting us know what is going on. I hope it can be fixed with the least amount of pain possible. Keep us posted. I will be praying for you and the best outcome.

Hi Elaine,

I'm very sorry to hear about your back problem. Hopefully you'll get the MRI results soon and then you can be given a course of treatment.

Don't fool around with it Elaine and do what the doctors tell you.

All the very best Elaine. Sounds like you have some very good and supportive friends here on the forum. We all wish you the very best.

Bye for now,

Glenn

Thanks Glenn...

I'm still waiting to hear from the doctor as to the results of the MRI. He wasn't in on Friday. I called again this morning, but since it's a large office with a "call center," I was only able to find out that my message is in his box, and that he'll get back to me by the end of the day.

I certainly miss the old days when you could call your doctor, and get to speak with him/her.

All I want is for this pain to be gone, and patience isn't one of my virtues.
