What did YOU call it???
I don't know about you, but we couldn't remember what the heck to call these things....and ofcourse they got referred to many times, daily.......lol, we came up with "CHALUPA".....
 "Did you put our towels by the Chalupa".....lol. Just having a laugh and wondered what other names its gone by? Care to share your version?  Palapa

Until I knew they had a name I referred to them as tiki huts. Palapa sounds like an appetizer at a restaurant

We say chickees too, but I was told on our last trip that ONLY Playa Linda calls them that. Glad to see Elaine does too.

Palapa if you want to be proper...hut is more common. We just got home last night, and this morning (due to wishful thinking)...my hubby got up and said.."Should I go get our hut? hahahahahaha...

In Michigan at Taco Bell reastaurants a Chalupa is something to eat.....I call the huts chickies when in Aruba. Or Heaven in the shade

I can do that! Chalupa....lollypop.....lol, who knew? I actually DID get it from the Taco Bell Chalupa which is a delicious terrible thing to eat....we just couldn't remember that Palapa word everytime so we went with Chalupa....lol. Looks like hut and chickees are the way to go...
