Need the name of a doctor in Aruba

Does anyone have the name of a doctor here on the island. Need to have stitches taken out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Carlysgram, I'm stumped ! Did you get them here ? Myself, I would open the phone book and call tomorrow morning or go to the front desk. Many of the hotels have doctors on call.

jawz, you are accurate. all of the hotels have a house doctor. they will all remove stitches.

Hi everyone, thanks for the responses. First let me say it is not for myself, but someone else. She got the stitches in the states and they should come out on Tuesday. The other problem is we are not staying at a hotel (that would be a no brainer). We are staying at Wacamaya Village (condo units). Another guest asked me if I knew the name of a doctor and since I don't, I thought of asking the question on the bulletin boards. Awhile ago there was the name and phone # of a local doctor who many folks thought was very good. I was hoping to get that drs. name for her. When some of the condo owners come back from wherever they are for the day, she's going to ask one of them. Again, thanks for the replies. After reading this long message, if someone else knows of a doctor they would recommend, please feel free to let me know.

Not much help for your situation...but in 2008 we had need for medical help. Our timeshare called the "house doctor"...I wish I could remember the name. It was a case of needing fairly simple (prescription) medications.

Maybe a hotel/resort would be willing to share the name of a doctor that they recommend.

Dr. Habibe at 11-B Noord was my family Dr. while I was living in Aruba. He is excellent and would be my choice. I am sure his staff can squeeze you in for the removal of some stitches. His office phone number is 586-5100. Noord is only 2 or 3 miles from The Wacamaya Condos.

I, also, can recommend Dr. Habibe. My husband and I have called/visited him over the yrs. I just couldn't recall his name when you first asked.

Just go to the first aid at the hospital. They will take them out.

That's exactly what my brother did several years ago. He went to Aruba with stitches that weren't ready to be removed prior to leaving. We went over to the hospital, and in no time they were removed. The people there couldn't have been nicer or kinder!

Thank you all. Dr. Habibe was the name I was searching for. I will give give the doctor's info to the person who needs it and I will make sure I write it down for myself just in case. Again, thanks to everyone.
