About 18 years ago, we were in the process of writing timeshare law guidelines for Aruba and eventually St, Martin. In that process, it was suggested that ANY BOARD had to go through a full change every 2 years and at the end of the two year reign that the departing board had to give a full disclosure report to the incoming board as well as have all books, meetings and other agenda items fully up to date.

It was rotundly turned down because one of the persons on the committee, who also happened to be on a board of a timeshare, felt that a board member should be able to get at least 5 free trips (all expenses immediately reimbursed) to Aruba during the time they served on the board.

He was asked to leave the committee.

I definitely believe in term limits, Charles.

Boards of Directors of many timeshares remind me of "the good old boys club." These people feel entitled, and think they have a right to "govern" forever, and blatantly do whatever they damn please.
